Hello Mighty Squirrels,

We managed to get half of the mocap animations done and we are gradually adding them to our characters.  With these new animations, we are going to make more progress in base building and management. The estimated beta release date is still in July 2013.

You should be able to see our male character in next update.

We also solved the localization issue. It is likely that we will release the game in different languages. But we don't have the budget to do that. So we will need some help from backers.

      looking forward to seeing the guy fighters next update: ripped muscles, grim faces, three day stubble, huge guns, ripping apart mutants with endless hails of bullets.....

      Can't help but thinking that the Ghost town slightly resembles the Hai Xiao in Shanghai. Good! I like it!

      It's nice to see progress. The game looks like it's coming along nicely. I'm not sure what people are expecting from the character models. They don't exactly look like glamour-models from the 3d models - in fact they don't look too different to the style used in Fallout 3 and New Vegas - which is about the right kind of look for a game like this.

      Character models have moved in the right direction, still feeling some of that "too pretty" kneejerk reaction. Looking forward to seeing some characters who look ready to do some dirty, heavy traveling/scavenging. Hats, jackets, pockets n bandoliers, cargo pants, gloves, body armor, goggles, dust/gas masks. If you take her pants off, she should look awkward, not ready for a lap dance; we get plenty of that in every other game out there.

      A stupid suggestion for next time:

      Instead of telling your mocap actors "pretend to chop wood" or "pretend to scatter seeds from a basket" etc. Give them an object that weighs the same as an axe and tell them to slam it into the floor as hard as they can, or give them a wastepaper basket with some dried beans in it and tell them to scatter them evenly on the floor in front of them, etc.

      so questions:
      Will we be able to set up bases in the abandon buildings in towns like how you did in the player built building at 2:30?
      How about building in the random caves? or even creating random caves?
      are the buildings only able to be built on flat land, or will they also be able to be built on hillsides as well?
      Sorry if im bombarding you with too many questions >.<

      Thanks guys, glad to know that you are all willing to help. We will probably do the localization late in development and we will contact you then.

      Amenomade - Sure, we will make the transition softer. We have tons of this kind of bugs in the game right now and we will get rid of them one by one.

      Marius - The character controlling is more like fallout now. But if you zoom out you still get a top down view.

      I would help with the german translation, if this would be Ok for you.
      I did some smaller translations in the past have to translate a lot of technical documents at work.

      I would like to contribute to a German translation. Maybe I can talk my wife into helping on a Brazil-Portuguese version … But how many lines are there? :P

      I can perhaps give you a little help with french if you want to translate the game in this language, but I don't have a lot of free-time...

      Super Models? I can't see them clearly enough to tell if they're attractive or not, you have great eyesight (or imagination). Maybe you're looking for a few hunchbacked, one armed people.

      the wood chopping isn't that bad, not realistic sure but it's not going to ruin my gaming experience in any way. I know motion capture is expensive as hell to do since you usually need to rent a studio to do it so no complaints.

      really looking forward to this but please, if you find that you need more time for god's sake take all the time you need, I rather have a game made the way it is supposed to be made come out a month or two late rather than a game missing some elements come out on time

      Sure thing. Just leave the scripts and which languages you need this translated to and we can get it done.

      Don't start throwing on the comment the language you wish to see..
      They are asking for help to translate, So rather that blunty say "German". Move your ass and help them doing a german version if you wish one.

      Personally as long as English is in. I am fine (plus it isn't like i'd ever see a localization in Italian :P)

      Looking good, but why is the nice lady hitting the log with that sledgehammer that's too heavy for her?

      Maybe create a pool on your forum to check what country & how many people can help you to translate the game, many developers don't do it because you expose yourself after the release to incorrect/grammatically error that reviewer will find, but it's a good idea, go for it.I don't feel the weight of the axe on the wood cutting animation, if it's mocap you do it with a lighter object in hand. And just a little question, will the enter in a building be transparent, or it will stay as you show, a door and tp to the other side ? Amazon island is dead on the next update :/ keep the good work §

      The animations look pretty god, other than the chopping wood animation that just looks wrong.
      Also what's up with the sound, good thing i wasn't wearing headphones.
