Day-night cycle and dynamic weather

Here comes the first update of February.

We have incorporated a 24 hour day-night system as well as a dynamic weather system which allows for different types of weather(sunny, windy, rainy....)

Some in-game events are closely related to the time of a day and weather. For example, some beasts will only attack at night.

The next update will be a video showing some progress on character control, coming on 2/7.

      ukshadow - I turned the shadow off for now, because there are some issues with it.

      Hmm, this will server mark the passage of time. But... Where are the shadows?

      Next (..) would be climte integration / support, so as to have to take care to skin if to much sun / wind, covering in cold area and so on.

      Sound to be on the good track so far, which is no surprise.

      Dusk rocks, I also like the person in the first picture levitating a rock trough Telekinese ;)

      @Veav after reading this, those weather effect you were talking about was the first thing that came to mind. if possible that would make the game so much better. i want to fight this messed up world as well as its messed up inhabitants. would make the survival element a lot stronger. hopefully this would be possible.

      I don't know if this is what they're thinking, but: for battlemap engaged wargamers, weather is totes a tactical consideration, affecting movement, sight zones and hearing, accuracy and treating wounds, providing cover for unit placement...

      @dx1 Well, they did say that the day/night and weather cycle was closely related to certain events and such. So it sounds like they will actually be involved in the game and not simply cosmetic.

      I'm a battlemap avoiding p&p roleplayer/game master, so please read my this comment as an irrelevant one: This looks like cosmetics to me, but nice ones, I think. ;) I hope the gameplay will be balanced, challenging and varied—preferably in this order, but I already paid for whatever I'll get and that's because I want you guys to make the game like you want it to be. If you have fun making it and can do it your way, I will see it (I guess) and enjoy playing it. Once I said in the comments (right after I pledged) I don't really have the money for this one, and it's like somewhere between Wasteland 2 and Dead State a little while after their KS campaigns and maybe this is the reason for the somewhat low response and the almost missed funding (alright, I exaggerate) but please keep on going. If this game will be half as nice as I hope it's going to be, than I'm more than happy for be a part of the funding crowd. And I'm sure I have two friends who really would appreciate the game as I imagine it to be, or the half of it. Hope you get it, I'm no native speaker i English and it's late. What I want to say is: Keep on going and have fun making that game. Have us updated and at least _I_ will be happy. ;)

      Very nice, I like it. I like the way there is more than just 3 basic themes; day, dusk and night.
      Nice 24 hr system.
