My name is Michael Neno. I write and draw comic books.

Help me attain my goal of printing The Signifiers #2, the wacked-out story started in one of 2010's most critically acclaimed indie comics.

After a mutating international event, a cultural war is raging against - and in support of - a mysterious force known as The Voyst. Meanwhile, one faction wants Splash, a denizen of the protected neighborhood of Millbrook, dead.

(Art below from The Signifiers #1)

For fans of Silver Age comics, classic newspaper strips and the golden era of '80s indie comics, The Signifiers is a fever dream come true. If Milton Caniff, Jack Kirby and David Lynch had hashed out a story in a weekend-long cabin retreat, this could have been the result!

The Signifiers #2 will also feature an exclusive interview with cartoonist Tom Scioli (Godland, The Myth of 8-Opus) on the state of comic book distribution, including unpublished art from his wicked webcomic, American Barbarian. Issue #2 will be 52 pages, b&w, with color covers and a $5.95 cover price. Money pledged for this project will be used towards the printing bill and pledgers will receive new copies of The Signifiers #2 as soon as they are printed. "Just read Michael Neno's The Signifiers - one of the strangest, coolest comics I've read all year." - Paul Pope (Batman Year 100, THB, Heavy Liquid)
