Anastasis Ballet Company is endeavoring to bring PRISM, 4 new ballets by 2 guest choreographers and our resident choreographer, to the stage this Spring.
You have the incredible opportunity to come alongside our talented dancers and choreographers in providing the ability to share our passion for our art with the community. Project funds will be used to present these new works to the tri-valley area of the San Francisco East Bay, at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore, CA this May. livermoreperformingarts.org/bankhead-theater. Though we have some funding already, we need further assistance to cover the full production costs of theater rental, new costumes, and rehearsal space rental. Any excess of funds raised will allow us to bring these works into even more communities.
PRISM - Four Movements from Four Perspectives includes works from three different choreographers including former Oakland Ballet Company dancer, Omar Shabazz, The Ballet Conservatory of Dance Revelation in Pennsylvania's, Leah Wallace, and Anastasis Ballet Company's Resident Choreographer, Rachel Gustafson. This production will delight audiences as Anastasis Ballet Company’s professional dancers present stunning choreography to the enchanting works of composers including Bach, Debussy and Beethoven. Bringing the music to life for Rachel Gustafson’s new work is concert pianist, Dane Burg. This will be the first time Anastasis Ballet Company has collaborated with guest choreographers and we are excited for the challenge of presenting new artistic styles to our audience.
ABOUT ANASTASIS BALLET COMPANY
Anastasis Ballet Company, now in its 4th season, is a non-profit professional ballet company with a desire to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ using the gift of dance that he has given to us. We seek to deliver quality ballet and artistry to our audience and to inspire others to use their talents and gifts as an expression of their love for Christ. In addition to our community performances, we have had the opportunity to use our talents for others through benefit performances to raise funds for organizations such as orphanages and homes for battered women. We also perform our yearly Christmas program, Handel's Messiah Ballet, for school children to give them the opportunity to see a live theater production.
