Funding Successful! - The Super Roman Empire Strikes Back!

Posted by SeaCliff Interactive (Creator)

Thank you everyone.  Thank you!

From the Day 1 supporters to our newest backers on the project, thank you!  Despite a somewhat scary bump back there, we all persevered, and Super Roman Conquest is going to be a reality.

We've experienced both the highs and lows of running a Kickstarter campaign all in the last 24 hours. We can't emphasize enough how grateful and humbled we are by everyone's support. We promise to multiply the enthusiasm and dedication you all showed here in our development of SRC.

Some Special Thanks

Thanks Tim Buckley over at Ctrl Alt Del for giving us a shout-out that really made a difference towards the end. It's cool and very humbling to have a comic you've been reading for the past 10 years (wow!) show such support for your project. We've extremely thankful to Tim and, of course, the amazing CAD community for helping allow us to do what we love. Make games.

Thanks to all the Bolt Riley folks who've supported us like their own, and for making a completely awesome Reggae-themed adventure game. So many times throughout the campaign we've come to the comments section and seen support from Bolt Riley supporters that helped keep morale high over here at SeaCliff Interactive.   Bolt Riley, mon!

Thanks to Jesse Harlin for contributing the awesome trailer music, Paul Nelson for art paintovers, Sean Ward for that kickass animation, and our family and friends.

Looking Beyond the Funding Goal

We've reached our funding, but the campaign is far from over, and development of SRC is just underway. In the coming 48 hours, we've got more news and updates to share with you:

* Steam Greenlight: We've reached our funding goal on Kickstarter, and now our sights are set on Steam. Check out our Greenlight Page to give us some votes and comments. Getting us greenlit brings us one step closer to getting SRC on that anticipated Box (you know the one we mean...).

* Additional Animation from Sean Ward: Sean is an amazing artist, and we will continue working with him to produce more amazing sprite animations like the one you saw. We're looking forward to sharing some more of Sean's work with you soon.

* Additional Backer Rewards: We are looking to add one or two items in the higher level reward tiers. These might be in-game rewards, like a pixelated version of yourself as a talking head in the Senate, or more physical goods like a cloth map of the Mediterranean. Please leave us a comment if there's something you wish we'd offer and we'll take it into consideration!

* Additional Environment Art: We're in talks with a talented environment artist who could help refine the visual development of SRC. We hope to have something to share either today or tomorrow so please stay tuned for that

Once again all, thanks so much for supporting the development of SRC. Everyone's support really shows that this system works and that fans won't let one bad apple ruin the bunch.

We look forward to working with all of you throughout the development. We're committed to making a product you're all proud that you backed at this early stage and won't rest until it's done. This is just the beginning!

Came here from Ctrl+Alt+Del, decided to add a little bit myself to your campaign as well as vote for you on Steam Greenlight. Glad you made your funding goal despite the troll, and look forward to giving the game a try.
