Art Update: Part 1
Hi everybody! Tim here.
Welcome to the first of our many art updates to come. Once our Kickstarter is funded, our plan is to hire an artist or two to join the project.
Over time, we will be replacing both the character and the environment art, and also implementing better technical effects to help achieve the look we're going for. To start with, we've begun working with the very talented Sean Ward, whose work you may have seen on the Hyperlight Drifter Kickstarter.
Sean is working on a couple character and animation concepts with us, trying to flesh out the stiff animations and flat characters we've shown so far. The concepts aren't finished, but we wanted to share the rough sketch he's working on:
Sean is working now to colorize and refine this sketch, but we think it's an awesome start that captures the direction we have in mind for the character animation. This particular animation would be played on the event that a Centurion makes a critical blow against a Gaul Brute. These kind of contextual events will require an animation system that I'm eager to start working on once we reach our funding. What do you guys think?
As always, thank you all for your support and we'll be in touch!
