Tutorial Update + Recording Sound FX

Hey all, Matt here again. 

We only have 8 days remaining in the campaign and need that final boost to get us over our goal.

I wanted to share some cool looking screenshots we captured this afternoon of Tim's tutorial level we're including in the Alpha Build due to be released sometime soon. As we said before, tutorials can be tough. People often don't read them, myself included, and just want to get to the meat of the game. 

Tim and I both agree that the best way to teach players the various actions and reactions they can perform in any given game in to provide relatively safe testing grounds where experimentation is encouraged and rewarded. We're committed to creating those sorts of environments in the early levels of SRC but are making an exception in the case of our Alpha Build. We want players to experience a wide variety of the stuff they'll be doing in SRC in a shorter time window than we expect them to in the finished product. That's why Tim's been working so hard on the tutorial and that's why it's so important.

Anyways, here's a screenshot of the current level. It's a NIGHT TIME LEVEL which is a nice pallet change from the usual sun drenched Mediterranean country side.

Also, to prevent our Alpha build from being completely quiet, we've been working on recording custom sound FX for the fighting your legions will be doing. We got into the spirit of the Fall season by gathering pumpkins left over from Halloween and using Tim's vast collection of swords (yeah, don't mess with Tim) we struck those gourds mercilessly to record some impact sounds you'll hear in the game. Here's a shot of the current Foley recording setup here at SeaCliff Interactive:

 We really gave that pumpkin a lesson it won't forget anytime soon. Also pictured here are a piece of wood, a box of spaghetti, and a live rabbit. Though I can assure you, no animals were harmed in the recording of the sounds of SRC.

Well that's it for today, we're still working as hard and fast as we can to get that Alpha Build released and into the hands of backers in the Alpha access tiers. If you want that early access, now's the time to increase your pledge to ensure you'll be able to experience SRC as early as possible.

      Make 30-40% night levels please! Night is a good time for hard conquest. :)

      Not too many night levels please. The PC has enough grey and gloom to last 10 lifetimes. I prefer the green grass, blue skies, and yellow stone of the previous screenshots.
