Screenshots and Pre-Alpha Details
Hello everyone, and once again thanks for joining us and sticking around!
Between Kickstarter management and shameless self-promoting, Matt and I have been finding time to update the game in preparation for sending out a playable pre-Alpha build. You backers will be the first to know when it goes Live.
Here's a quick rundown on what we've got scheduled for our first release:
Tutorial World -- A simple, interactive encounter that teaches you the basics of movement, camera, unit selection, and special abilities.
Campaign Mode Vertical Slice -- While the Campaign Mode is far from done, we are crafting a small vertical slice that demonstrates what you'll be doing in the final game. You'll only have destination to choose, but we'll give you some gold coinage to buy and upgrade troops, and a taste of the kind of choices you'll have to make as Commander.
Our first Encounter Map! -- After you go through the Tutorial, handle the logistics of troops, and commit to battle, you'll be taken to our first final Encounter Map. This is where the sidescrolling gameplay takes place. We'll have special routes for Engineers, archer positions, multiple lanes, and different routes to storm the battlefield. We're still working on the environment art and balance, but here's an early shot:
CROPS! -- They're just set dressing for now, but perhaps we should enact "Farming" as a Senate Decree and put it to a vote.
