About this project
Our goal is to raise money to print and distribute the 41 Pit Bulls book. A book we hope to create to bring an end to pit bulls being seen as unadoptable.
Each of the 41 dogs photographed for this book was labeled a “pit bull.” They were discriminated against. They were rescued from cruelty, neglect, isolation or a death sentence.
Each one is now living happily and successfully in a loving home. Because accurate information and faith was enough for one person to take a chance on a pit bull and to encourage 41 others to do the same. And we believe the production and distribution of this book will provide the information and faith needed to encourage 41 more people. And 41 after that, and 41 after that.
A little book with a big job.
Because every dog deserves a chance at a loving and capable home. Even one that has been labeled, a “pit bull.”
Risks and challenges
The potential challenge for this project is not what happens when it is funded; a trusted studio, printer, distribution plan and studio space (for a gallery exhibit featuring the photos) are in place.
The challenge will be getting people to engage and fund the project despite the polarizing nature of the topic and the current bias against dogs labeled “pit bulls,” as a result of misinformation about the breed.
This has created a sad reality in which responsible, capable people are in many cases turned off by the anything that features a "pit bull."Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
