Get The Cinnamon Snail back on the streets, and help us make our foodtrucky world more resistant to peril and calamity!
Help us finance and build a new food truck (finally!), so we can get back in the game, and continue to bring the best vegan food to NYC and NJ. Our old truck will get sorted out, and eventually be a "back up" vehicle, so we will never miss another day, and the sun will always shine, unicorns will always sing, and breakdancing will always occur inside the pentagon, and other official government buildings.
Here's a breakdown of all of the costs:
The truck and permit (cost: $82k, I know, Yikes...)
Fabrication of a display case for our pastries, and other stainless fabrication (cost: $10K)
Gorgeous artwork put on the outside (cost: $5K)

Full tuneup and inspection from a great mechanic (cost: $1200)
All money we raise through kickstarter will go directly to these expenses. Any additional money we might raise will go to further updates to make the truck nicer and more reliable. One thing we would love to do, is install a display case on the opposite side of the truck, which would allow us to serve from the other side at events, and on one way streets that only have parking on our left side (there are actually quite a few locations we would love to be able to serve, but currently can't because we can only serve from the passenger side).
Once our old truck is fully permitted again, we will keep it as a back up truck, so that when our new truck needs a day in the shop, we always have another truck we can rely on, so NOTHING can keep us from serving vegan food daily on the streets.
Here's my story all the deets:
My name is Adam. I have a really sweet little vegan family, and some of the best friends on earth. Together we started what has become a very well loved food truck.
Even though it's a business model with endless difficulties, I love running a food truck. It's really kind of a dream come true for me. Having a food truck allows me to bring vegan organic food to many communities throughout the week who don't have great lunch options nearby. When disaster strikes, like during hurricane Sandy, having a food truck allows us to do outreach, and bring hot food to people in need. It's pretty wonderful what we get to do. Basically, all day people come up to us, and get really happy in front of us, and then leave with yummy creative food. It's really one of the best feelings in the world.
I started The Cinnamon Snail vegan food truck a little over 4 years ago, using a really beat up 20 year old truck I found on craigslist. With a very small budget, me and some of my close friends got the truck outfitted with a mobile kitchen and gorgeous artwork, and hit the streets.
We have become probably one of the most popular food trucks in NYC, winning tons of fancy awards and accolades. It's amazing how far our old trucky has taken us, but now it's increasingly having problems.
Mechanical failures strike either the truck or the generator frequently, keeping us off the streets for long periods of time during costly repairs. NYC also has a nightmarish, outdated food truck permit system that is in bad need of reform. When we need re-inspection every 2 years, or if there is a problem with the truck, we can be forced off the streets for weeks, awaiting paperwork, or an inspection date. That's where we are at right now. It could take over a month to coordinate an inspection date and get back on the streets.
Meanwhile, we have become a pretty large crew of people. We have bakers who make our awards winning donuts at night, the folks you see on the truck everyday, we have a cleaning crew, and there are folks back in our prep kitchen every day making the sauces, burger patties, condiments etc. While the truck awaits an inspection date, we are all out of work.
We have found a gently used food truck, that has a valid NYC vending permit on it. The truck has only 25K miles on it, and should be much more reliable than our old truck. It's also quite a bit roomier inside, which will allow us to store more food, and function more easily inside, which should help us speed up our service quite a bit.
Please help us get back on the streets. We will really love you forever, and will do our absolute best to keep improving our food. One day we want to win the award for yummiest food in the galaxy, and send Jar Jar Binks to accept the trophy on our behalf in an intergalactic food hover-craft carefully crafted out of tofu. Help!

A little info about our rewards
The dates for the cooking classes at our kitchen in Brooklyn will be:
Saturday June 7th, Saturday July 12th, & Saturday August 9th.
All classes will be 10:00am-2:00pm
These are going to be fun, hands on multi course cooking classes. We will sit down and eat everything we make together at the end of the class.

Any of the rewards on our page can be gifted to someone else, so please Aunty in Nebraska, do something extra sweet for your favorite vegan nephew in the big city <3
Risks and challenges
Should we receive full funding, we will be an unstoppable force in the vegan food galaxy!
Of course, we will do our best to get everyone's treats fulfilled quickly.
Should any hurdles or challenges arise that make it difficult to deliver said treat, we will use TNT and plastic explosives to blow away those hurdles (to kingdom come).
Let's say, Nicolas Cage tries to prevent us physically from delivering your shirt to the post office. HE WILL BE ELIMINATED (using Wesley Snipes to pack him tight into a catapult, and launch him into the sun.) Sorry Nicolas Cage, but you should have know better as to interfere.
