Lisa is a side-scrolling PC ONLY RPG set in a post apocalyptic wasteland where women are nowhere to be found. It's a world full of drugs, violence and the decay of human intelligence...
EXPLORING THE LAND OF LISA
Lisa will be full of things to learn and do. Gamble your life away... LITERALLY! With Russian roulette! Enter the hyper slow world of white knuckle shopping cart racing! Defend your case in the foreign Fishman Court, good luck with that one! Remember, there are no women in Lisa. Men are "starved," so it's easy to turn a quick buck by selling your body as a prostitute! Have fun!
I want the world of Lisa to be hard on the player. I hate playing a game knowing that if I make a choice, it has to be the one I know the game wants me to do, or the "safe" option, or the one that leads to the good ending. The choices you make will change the core mechanics of the game, it's not just superficial. I want the player to really have to make sacrifices and for the game to affect the interior core of your experience. Here are some examples,
- Trading your hard earned money or items in exchange for the safety of your teammates.
- Giving up your limbs in exchange for the lives of your party members. affecting your stats, but ensuring their safety from permanent death.
- Revealing locations of towns or camps to the enemy for profit, allowing them to pillage all the resources and destroy all the potential party members and sidequests inside the town, permanently.
The element of sacrifice plays a huge role in your survival. When making choices in the game you're really going to have to keep survival in mind. I don't mean keeping some stamina bar full, but coming to the realization that in order to survive you will have to be selfish and assertive. Doing the right thing isn't always the right thing for you and your progress. It will be a constant battle of choosing who you trust and who you kill.
The cast of characters will be huge, the world is full of supernatural beings, weirdos, monsters, and just plain dumb people. EVERY character in Lisa will have their own individual spirit and look. You won't be talking to the same rehashed NPCs, or fighting the same enemies over and over again. Speaking of fighting! Enemy encounters will always be unique and varied. Most enemies will try to ambush you while others can be passed up if you're clever enough. Some enemies can be easily thwarted and sometimes you just got to talk it out over a cigarette. <3
Brad Armstrong, Job class: ???
Brad's ambitions are unclear, he likes to be left alone to do drugs and drink. Brad is a former martial artist. He has a distaste for children.
Ricky Weeks, Job class: Pushover
Richard is the ultimate family man, he says his prayers, brushes his teeth and never swears. He fondly remembers his stunning wife and son. Rick is very supportive in battle, on the flip side he is very weak as a character and as a man.
Cheeks Gaywood, Job class: Pervert
Cheeks is an old man with a taste for the ladies. Problem is, there are no ladies. Cheeks is often found reading unsavory magazines and swimsuit catalogues. He's very good at making people feel uncomfortable and he likes to use this in battle.
Sticky Angelo, Job class: Free Spirit
Sticky is often made fun of for his phallic features, but does this bother him? No. He is a bag in the wind, nothing bothers this man.

WHO AM I?
I am a professional martial artist, I study Wushu, my specialty is the drunken style. (I started martial arts because of video games, mainly Streets of Rage and King of Fighters!) I also study acting and writing. I love narrative in games, especially if it can weave well with gameplay. My income comes from winning competitions. It's a very modest living, being a performance martial artist is no UFC! Martial arts is great, but my first and true love is video games. Earthbound is my favorite game of all time, it's done so much for me. (Is it obvious how much it inspired Lisa? I hope so!). I'm doing everything for this game, the graphics, programming, music and writing. I've been able to create enough to start showing people, but progress has been extremely slow. It will take centuries to complete this project if I continue at a part-time pace. I will use the money from the Kickstarter to fund the game, so I can devote all my time into production. If funding goes over 100% I will devote just as much time to creating additional content and possibly bringing in more people to help with the completion and polish of the game.
Risks and challenges
You only really know who you are when you're pushed to your limits...
I feel like the biggest risk of the game is upsetting people. It's also my greatest goal. I want to really push the player into a corner, force you to do things you aren't sure of doing, and I don't just mean morally. I'm sick of playing as the hero. TV and Film are stepping it up narratively, games should be doing the same, plus some. I want to help contribute to the innovation of story telling in video games, and I think this project can do that with your help.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
