Award-winning composer Austin Wintory signs on to create Project Awakened soundtrack

Hello Everyone,

We are incredibly excited to announce that Austin Wintory, award willing composer of Journey and Horn (our latest original mobile game) has come on as the composer for Project Awakened!

Fresh off his D.I.C.E. Award for "Best Score" for Journey and the FIRST EVER Grammy nomination for video game music, Austin is sure to bring a spectacular sound to Project Awakened. In his words -

"Following an incredibly wonderful collaboration with Phosphor on HORN last year, it was a no-brainer for me when I first got the call about working on PROJECT AWAKENED.  Once I got a rundown of all the plans for the game, especially the details beyond what's been presented so far in the Kickstarter campaign, I got even more excited. I think the potential behind this game, both as a customizable player-driven game, and as a narrative experience, is very high. And our preliminary brainstorms on the music have already got my mouth watering!"

Thanks for all your continued support, and if you love good game music, you now have one more reason to back Project Awakened!

A huge heart felt thank you,

Phosphor Games

He's actually doing the soundtrack for the Leisure Suit Larry remake too. This guy sure can multitask

Wasn't Austin doing the soundtrack for The Banner Saga? Does that mean that that the soundtrack for that project has already been completed? Or is he working on them simultaneously?

He had the first ever video game SCORE nominated for a Grammy. The previous year had the first video game music nominated, that being "Baba Yetu" by Christopher Tin.

Agreed with Eric. If there was a time to show this stuff, it would have been 1-1.5 weeks ago.

      But AMAZING news in itself!

I truly can't throw much more money (maybe $20-25 tops) in. We need more backers. A lot. And it seems many prospective backers are just outright confused on what this project is - a significant hurdle that I wish was more focused on by Phosphor.

I don´t want to be "that guy" but...if there indeed are more exciting stuff left to show about this game "beyond what´s been presented so far" I think now is a good time to show it. If you considering the amount of time that´s left on this KS and the amount that needs to be pledged there is really nothing to gain by withholding anything.

Don´t get me wrong...this is Kickstarter and anything is possible in the end hours, but roughly $300.000 is quite a cliff to overcome...

*look at pledge $* sigh this is just going to make it even sadder when it'll fail.
