"LIZ&EVIE" is a stop-motion film, with which we would like to draw attention to the topic of hair donation. So we're not just making a movie, but also the social campaign behind it.
Whether consciously or not, our hair makes a big contribution to our self-esteem. Therefore, it is very difficult for many people to lose their hair due to illness or accident, especially for children and women.
With our film, we don't want to force people to donate their hair. Instead, we want to tell the story of two believable and lovable characters, which can't be forgotten so quickly by our audience.
For the construction of the puppets, we have support from Denmark. Ida Asferg Jakobsen, our head of puppet design, has designed the two main characters. She carefully sculpted their faces and fabricated their wigs.
In Stuttgart, we build the bodies and costumes of the puppets. We are extremely excited to finally put all the parts together and bring Liz and Evie to life!
At the same time, we're building two sets for our film.
One is the bus station, where Liz and Evie meet, and one is Liz’ room. Within four weeks, our team has built the major part of the sets. We have constructed redbrick houses, trees, front yards and fences and put little flower boxes at the facades.
We also built tiny furniture from foam plates in Liz’ room, painted the room in light colour and equipped it with plants, little books and decorations.
Every detail was built with love, to transform the set into Liz and Evie’s little world.
As our goal is to raise awareness for hair donation, one main part of our project is our website and blog, where we inform about the topic and share insights of our work and progress.
On www.liz-evie.de you can find the information about why and how to donate hair as well as tutorials for Origami like Liz loves to make them, pictures from behind the scenes and much more. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay tuned!
You can also support us by spreading our message to your friends and by sharing this campaign on your social networks! We sincerely thank all of you here for your valuable help!

Risks and challenges
This is our first crowdfunding ever and for most of us, this is the first stop-motion production.
The deadline for the whole project is the end of June.
We are responsible for the whole production: from the financing to the evaluation itself, including the complete set construction. So this is a project that all of us can learn from and we will do everything to achieve our goal: not only to make a movie that moves people but also to raise awareness for hair donation and help people to help each other.
