Man is that a beautiful sight to see! Thank you all so much for your support in getting Torchlight Lullaby funded! There's still plenty of time left in the campaign though, so let's see if we can't hit a stretch goal or two!
Now that we've hit our initial target goal I've made some request items available as Add-Ons.
Add-ons are available at tiers of $25 or more.
Step 1) Choose a physical tier to pledge at. For example, "WHAT YOU CAME HERE FOR" for $25.
Step 2) Choose your desired add-ons below, then total their values and increase your pledge by that amount. For example, if you’d like to add on a Shiverwing pin ($10) to the “WHAT YOU CAME HERE FOR” tier ($25) your new total would be $35 plus shipping
Step 3) After the campaign is over, you'll receive a backer survey. In the notes field, please remind me which items you added on, and they will be shipped with your existing tier rewards.
Extra copy of the book - $20 (20% off of cover price)
Grayson cloisonné pin - $10 (Only available as an add-on. Design coming soon.)
Shiverwing cloisonné pin - $10 (Only available as an add-on. Design coming soon.)
Vince Dorse guest print - $10 (See design below)
Sam Ellis guest print - $10 (See design below)
Comic set - $30 (A complete set of issues 1-6 of Torchlight Lullaby.)
Hey there Kickstarter land, my name is Ryan and I've been making comics for the past 7 years, but I've never been more proud of a project then I am of this one.
Torchlight Lullaby is a fantasy/adventure story about a little girl named Ella that's forced to face her greatest fears when she becomes trapped in her dreams. Along with her friend Winchell the mouse (that was just a normal stuffed animal before this all started), Ella is forced to adapt to the situation she's found herself in.
At it's core it's a story about finding a level of bravery she never knew possible.
* If we hit the $20K goal for Kitty Puppet Theater, 10% of the total project funds will be donated to a local no-kill animal shelter
I've worked on Torchlight Lullaby for just under 2 years and now it's time to finally see this beauty in print.
My goal is to raise $7,000 to cover the printing, order fulfillment and shipping of 1,000 high quality, 8.5" x 10.25", full-color, 200+ page softcover books as well as pins, prints, and other backer rewards. I will be personally contributing $4,000 to the project that is already saved and put aside.
This book will contain the complete Torchlight Lullaby story as well as lots of bonus concept art, pin ups by some amazingly talented artists and whatever else I can find laying around my office that needs a good home (you can't have my cats, those are spoken for.)
First and foremost this Kickstarter is about the graphic novel, so most of the reward tiers are focused on either adding something to the book (your name in the thank you's as a backer) or owning the book in some form or another.
If the goal is not met in time then no money will change hands- sadly that means the book won't be printed and the various other rewards won't be made as well ( we don't want that to happen.)
So what kinda swag can you get if it does get made? Well funny you should ask...
First off the Graphic Novel of course.
There's also single issues if you want the story the old fashioned way.
Kickstarter exclusive cloisonné pins.
Some Kickstarter Exclusive prints.

Other Awesome Rewards:
Last but certainly not least, we have lesson plans and teacher packages of the book to help bring it to the classroom. There's also original art, the option to have me draw a comic you've written, and a chance to own the LAST Torchlight Lullaby preview comic that sold out earlier this year and will never be printed again. Finally, you can be a part of my next graphic novel, a horror comic, as either a minor or major character (I'll even let you help pick out your gruesome demise!)
Risks and challenges
I've been drawing comics for over 7 years now and I have a bachelors in graphic design from the Art Institute of Seattle. I'm confident in my ability to design and print a beautiful product.
Along with hiring a Kickstarter project specialist to help, I've spent the last several weeks getting numerous quotes from various manufacturers and printers to insure that I have my budget correct. The $7,000 goal, paired with my existing $4,000 contribution (already saved & put aside), not only covers production costs but fees and taxes, as well as allowing for a little wiggle room for unforeseen issues.
The book itself is completely written and the art is 80% finished. This project has become my full-time job and I'm confident that it will be finished in a timely manner and I'll hit me delivery date.
That being said- I've backed several Kickstarters myself and I know that production delays can happen. No matter what happens, you all deserve to be told the truth and I promise I'll keep you all informed throughout this process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
