Oh, how the time flies! 2013 is already on its last legs, and it's time to get started on next year's 2014 Hoodcats calendar!
Since last year's campaign, I've gotten to meet a lot of really cool, and some fairly crazy, cat people. Amazing nonprofit Cat Town Oakland helped get a batch of Hoodkittens adopted, and also helped get a few of the neighborhood adults spayed and neutered, I DJ'd Oakland's first-ever Internet Cat Video Festival, and was even dubbed "Cat Man of West Oakland" by the East Bay Express. Needless to say, it's been an interesting year, and I'm excited to take the 2014 Calendar up a notch by:
A. Running the campaign sooner and longer than last year, giving me more time to promote and get the word out.
B. Printing 500 copies (way more than the 100 copies I did last time)!
C. Linking up with local art, book, and craft stores that want to stock the calendar, as well as setting up a table during Art Murmur for Dec. 2013 and Jan. 2014!
In addition to the 12 month, wall hanging, 6x6 calendars, I'll be printing stickers, buttons, and will have a new reward that includes an 8x8 canvas print of a Hoodcat of your choice from the links below, just message me through Kickstarter with the image you want to use.
As with last year, shipping within the U.S. is included in every pledge!
Risks and challenges
Last year's campaign was a bit of a last-minute experiment. I wasn't exactly sure if folks would be all that interested in having these photos in print, but boy was I wrong! There were orders from all over the world, and we went way over our goal, which was really exciting! This year I'm getting things underway a little sooner than last year, and plan on having calendars in hand before the end of November, guaranteeing that everyone will have their orders shipped before the holiday season. I'll be printing with PSPrint in Oakland again, who were very helpful last year, so unless there are some unforeseen shipping snafus, there really aren't too many risks!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
