OH HI I'm Kickstarting my new full-length studio record!

Hello again! It's been a while!

Thanks so much for making my 2012 EP a thing. I've been self-producing my music ever since and while I love the freedom, my new material needs to be done up right in a real-deal studio! So I'm turning to Kickstarter again to make it happen!

Some of you have already backed and we're over 10% already! Less than an hour in!!!

Thanks again for all your support over the years. I wouldn't be where I am today without you.

Thank you, Kickstarter!

Kickstarter has been good to me - and I'm not the only one.

The official Kickstarter blog mentioned both Marian's and my project, so if you were linked here via that post, hello! That coverage came thanks to a piece in the Anchorage Press this week.

For those who missed out on the Kickstarter itself, don't despair! PRE-EXODUS is out now in digital form on BandCamp. Physical CDs will be available for order soon and are always available at shows, so check out the schedule on my website for the show nearest you.

Backer rewards are in the process of being fulfilled, so if your CD hasn't been delivered yet, it will be by the end of next week.

Last thing: some friends of mine are in the last week of their Kickstarter and NEED YOUR HELP! Please consider backing PJ FRANCO AND THE BURNOUTS on their Warped Tour endeavors. They're amazing.

Thanks again, Kickstarter. And to all my backers.

Here it is:

For backers only. If you're a backer of this project, please log in to read this post.

I've spent the past few days dragging my jaw across the floor, completely amazed at the outpouring of support. It's made some of my songs a little (more) incomprehensible at shows and people at work find it pretty disturbing, but I can't help it - you guys are incredible.

So now what?

For one thing, I'm putting the finishing touches on the record. Final album art is still in the works and mastering is an intense process that, depending on how the funding ends up, I might pay someone more experienced to do. This means download codes will take a bit longer to go out. Trust me, the wait will be worth it. You should be listening to the record by the 15th of May.

I should mention: just because the goal was met, that doesn't mean we can't keep going.  Every dollar over that original goal of 2k goes to making the record nicer. Fancier packaging, shrink-wrapping, color art inserts, etc. It's all possible.

I want to thank you all. Everyone who backed the record, everyone who bought a house concert or a custom song, everyone who shared the link on facebook and Twitter, everyone who said "oh, that's a pretty good idea. Maybe you should do that instead of just playing Minecraft or something."

I'll be sending backers messages in the coming weeks with more details on reward fulfillment, status on record production, etc.

I'm gonna say it one more time: Thank you.

First of all, THANK YOU. The generosity of my fans and friends is what made this all possible. I literally couldn't have done it without you.

If you pledged $5 or more - and most of you did - you should be getting a download code in the next week or two for the new EP. If you gave $10 or more there will also get a download code for my first record. If you already have my first album, send me a message and I will omit the code for the first record.

So. The way Kickstarter works is that funds aren't dispersed until the end of the 30 days. Then it's another 1-3 weeks for processing with Amazon Payments. The second the funds are in my account, I'll place the CD order (and compensate those who helped me make it. CD production and shipping should take around 2 weeks, meaning the estimated time of me having CDs to bring to you is about June 20-30. When CDs are on their way, I'll message $30 or more backers to arrange meeting times in Anchorage.

Occasionally throughout the next few weeks I'll be reminding people about this Kickstarter. Even though its goal is met, there's plenty of value in these rewards - most of which are exclusive to Kickstarter. I don't normally hand-deliver records to people, for example.

Any funds over the $2,000 go to making the CDs nicer - shrink-wrap, nicer packaging, etc.- and ordering even more CDs.

Whew. Now I'm going to go take a nap.

If you have any questions, feel free to send a message through Kickstarter. And thanks again.
