Grape Soda is two brothers, Mat and Ryan Lewis, currently living in Athens, Georgia. We try our hardest to write perfect pop songs, then hide them somewhere between the spacey soundscapes of Mat's Farfisa organ and Ryan's nervy, driving drumbeats. Sometimes it sounds like an old Stax or Motown record played a few RPMs too fast through a blown speaker. Sometimes it doesn't sound anything like that at all. See for yourself!
We've been around for a little over a year and a half, and in that time we've played with dozens of incredible bands, made countless friends, and even helped create a minor internet sensation.
The achievement we're most proud of, however, is the album we recorded and mixed this spring. It's set to be our first proper, full-length release, and we think it sounds really great. We cut a lot of corners and saved a lot to fund the recording, and now all that's left is to share it with you.
We've decided to press our album as a vinyl record because we love you and want you to have something nice. If you want an album as a physical object -- to look at the artwork, read the liner notes, feel what you've paid for in your hands rather than see it listed on your iPod -- why not get a big, beautiful record? All our records will come with codes for digital downloads of the album anyway, so let's cut out the middle man.
By our calculations, it's going to take a little over $3,000 to press our record through United Pressing. They're a reputable company, the most cost-effective, and on top of that, they'll give anyone that donates $50 or more a test pressing!
So what do you say? We hope you say "hey I want to give those Grape Soda guys some money so they can press their album on vinyl and send me a copy." Did you say that? Seriously, please say that.
