A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

It's a fact that no one will dispute. Kids aren't moving enough, and that's a problem. While they are becoming increasingly tech-savvy due to their incredible knowledge of gadgets and how they work, the truth is that they are mostly lethargic when they are using gamepads, laptops, and other devices.
So, how can technology offer a complementary way for children to play and have fun while moving and exercising more along the way? The answer is now easier than ever: we have developed a wearable technology device that makes kids move, exercise and be healthier while having loads of fun!
Check out the full length introduction video:
Wiggly is a wearable device for children — and a very stylish one, we should say — that looks just like a super cool jacket, but which actually offers them stimulating moments of an interactive game that requires them to be focused on Wiggly's lights and voice instructions, and moving accordingly, in a fun and relaxing way.
With different musical genres to choose from, Wiggly tells your kid to move according to the 30 amazing songs it plays, taking your child throughout an adventure where music, dancing and having fun become a game that brings out the best in your kid.
Wiggly’s instructions are mapped in two ways. Wiggly is a bilingual device (so it works both in English and in Spanish) that offers voice instructions that your kid needs to follow, so there's a natural desire to pay attention to what Wiggly is saying—something that is very helpful in today's age of short attention spans.
Along with the voice instructions and the music it plays, Wiggly also maps the movements by turning on yellow lights in the part of the body that should be moving, making children also want to pay attention to and follow the engaging visual guidance that the lights offer.
If a movement is performed correctly, the lights turn green. If enough movements are correct, Wiggly tells your kid to keep up the great work while a new song is started
On the other hand, if a mistake is made and a movement is wrong, the lights turn red. If enough movements are incorrect, Wiggly restarts the song while telling your kid to never give up.
Our objective with Wiggly is to offer a positive, encouraging, engaging, healthy and extremely exciting way of make your kids move that can subtly but efficiently play an important role in their cognitive development.
By naturally making your child move, Wiggly creates the perfect opportunity for children to exercise, improve their reflexes and coordination, and also to prevent sedentary habits and obesity—because it's a game that is played through movement.
Also, and despite the fact that we live in an age of permanent 'connectedness' through social media, the truth is that children (and adults too, actually) are becoming increasingly isolated because the use of conventional technology does not encourage a balanced social interaction. Wiggly is precisely the opposite, though.
This also creates great opportunities for family bonding—because you can have some serious fun with your kids as you all play with Wiggly. It is really the perfect way to have your kids moving, exercising and getting healthier without having to tell them to do that as an obligation.
Getting children to wear something that protects them from the elements is not an easy task. That's why we kept a kid's style concerns in mind, as well as their well-being, when designing Wiggly.
This is a jacket that will both look great on a boy or a girl and which is made with a special fabric that is soft and comfortable and which is also dirtproof, waterproof, sweatproof and with a solid sun protective factor (UPF/UV+50). This means that, as a jacket, Wiggly does its part to protect your kids' well-being as well!
We are mindful of the current concerns about data security and privacy issues that wearable devices raise. While many wearable devices necessarily require users to input a lot of personal data, the truth is that we have used a design and format that makes Wiggly a privacy-friendly device. Also, Wiggly is a patent-pending invention.
This means that, while it is a sophisticated wearable tech jacket that works as a fully interactive game, Wiggly does not collect or store any data. It is an entirely privacy-friendly device that is only made for the benefit of your children.
When developing Wiggly, one of our points of focus in terms of the User Experience was to make it an organic device that does not require the usual tapping and clicking that most devices call for. With Wiggly, you can be sure that your kid will not be glued to any screen, just tapping and clicking without moving.
On the contrary, Wiggly does not even have a screen or where to tap or click—it just makes your kid move naturally and engagingly, which is an extremely healthy way of playing a game, especially in an age where not moving enough is becoming a serious public health issue for children.
Wiggly an innovative device that was born in Mexico City. As a parent of a young girl, I felt the need to create a solution that would make my daughter have fun and want to play a game that would naturally help her to feel happier and healthier. I also wanted to offer her something that would guide her, inspire her and that could make her feel like I was with her even when I was busy at work.
That's how I came up with the idea of designing something that embodies all that Maria José, my daughter, and her friends love: a cool jacket (kids love to look great) and an engaging game that they can't get enough of (let's face it: games and playing, in general, are what being a kid is all about); but I also came up with something that embodies the concerns of a parent: letting them play while learning meaningful things (such as not giving up and getting used to following instructions as a launchpad to then release their creativity) and ensuring that they have an active and healthy lifestyle (a concern that is at the heart of every parent on earth).
Wiggly is also a way to show that cutting-edge innovation is also born in Mexico. As a Mexican and Latino innovator, I am very proud to show to the world that there is an extremely creative, smart and engaged side of Mexico and Latin America that is working to create solutions to make the world a better place for all. Wiggly is just an example—and a very good one, I believe—of how true that is. Hopefully, you will agree with me.
We’ve worked so hard to get this far but Wiggly's story is just getting started. With your help, we will not only make Wiggly a friendly device that will help your children be happier and healthier but we will also make it available for other kids and their families around the world.

Risks and challenges
Since Wiggly is already designed and all its engineering aspects have already been fully developed, in technical terms, there is no actual risk to the project. Wiggly has been tested again and again by real-life children (my daughter, my niece and their friends), so we know it works perfectly and that kids love it. The only real challenge here is to get the word out about the fun wearable for kids that makes them happier and healthier— but we're pretty confident that, with your help, we'll succeed!
