 Hi There!

Hope you all enjoyed last weeks’ update with the announcement of the mini game. This week, I’m proud to announce to you that CIA just recently launched our 2nd Kickstarter project, this time for an anime called Under The Dog.

Although I’m pretty sure most of you already on the forum know about it (you are on the forum right?) but in case you didn’t you can watch the kick ass trailer for it here.

If you think it’s awesome, it would be fantastic to get your support for it cause it’s not going to happen if we don’t hit our target. Help make a pledge, tell your friends, tweet the world, spread the word!

Oh yeah, if you’re part of the 5% of people who are NOT on the forums yet, you can register here. If that doesn’t work for you, shoot us an e-mail at info@projectphoenix.info with your username and e-mail and one of us (most likely Budd), will give you a hand.

TALK ABOUT THIS UPDATE ON THE FORUMS

PS. Because this is a CIA Project, we have some plans in the works to reward those who’ve contributed to both Project Phoenix and Under the Dog. We’ll have more of those details available when they’re ready. In the meantime, give Under the Dog a look and before we end, here are a few words from Budd and Hiro.

Sorry, I have to agree with the others. One project at a time, and cost is too high for one episode. I think you'd have to charge more of a normal price, and hope for volume to cover the total expense.

I'm gonna be honest, i really cannot see a new kickstart when a previous one isn't even close to finish with good eyes

I understand there are different projects with different people, but having people working on both means they wont be dedicate themselves to one project.

Ahmed >> Usually, a cheap episode which has a whole season lined up (ie, at least 12~13 eps making the single episode cheaper) is around USD150k. So what we are asking for isn't expensive, also we aren't doing TV quality anime, we are doing feature film quality which is far superior to that of TV.

    4. Ahmed on

Yeah, it's too pricey for one episode. That's more than my entire anime budget for a series.

I registered, but never be able to verificate, so I am blocked, tried to contact on the info email, but kept me waiting.

That looks awesome, I hope it turns out successful and I can't wait to see what comes of it if it is.

      So...that looks amazing so far.

      @Zarco and mad

Taken from the UTD FAQ section:

"1) we are aiming for 100% backer funded AAA production quality. Maybe KS isn’t ready for something like this but we'd like to find out. 2) We could go with traditional funding and create as many as 2 seasons right off the bat but quality would suffer as well as creative control. With this team we want to involve the backers so that we can attain something much more special together. 3) A one-off episode is more expensive with regard to dollars per minute of animation. If we wanted a full season (13 episodes) the initial goal would be much higher (almost $3 million) but we could get the cost down per episode. At $3 million, in our minds, why not shoot for the film?"

i think the same way that Zarco92. if you want more bakers you have to reduce the price a little. But the episode seems nice :)

      Thanks David ;)

I checked it out, and it looks really great, but I think that it's a bit overpriced for just one 24 minutes episode (professionaly made, of course, but only one episode...)
