The Console-ation Prize!

In running this Kickstarter, if there’s one thing we’ve really come to appreciate, it’s your energy, enthusiasm, and, of course, your patience!  After a lot of hard work on the back end, we can finally announce that Project Phoenix will officially be released on the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve received many messages, e-mails, and queries about the possibility of the game being released on the PS4 and PS Vita and now, after long negotiations and discussions, that wish has become a reality!  So although not every single detail about the release has been finalized, we’re proud and excited at the prospect of developing for the Playstation platform.

So what does this all mean for those of you who are interested in getting a PS4 or PS Vita version of Project Phoenix?  Well, we’re working on getting the pledge tiers ready through our Paypal donation page and will update you all accordingly when that's up and ready!

Those who have already backed it through Kickstarter and prefer a PS4 or PS Vita version, please stay tuned to the updates page and we'll have more information on how to make the change once we're up and running.

Hood Rat Entertainment likes this update.

I think I will stick with you guys, I guess I overreacted a bit, I'm sure the game will be just as good on PS4 and after all it's a genre that originated on consoles.

"Those who have already backed it through Kickstarter and prefer a PS4 or PS Vita version, please stay tuned to the updates page and we'll have more information on how to make the change once we're up and running."

Will we get more information before the Kickstarter ends?

Awesome, I was hoping that this would be going to the PS4 and Vita!!

    4. Becky, Oracle of Valoria on September 8, 2013

Fantastic news! I hope Vita will also be offered as an add-on so I can get both PC and Vita without giving up my EB Artisan.

    5. Eddy Sugihartono on September 7, 2013

Is there any news about new reward containing PS4 or PS Vita game?

Oh nevermind, saw that you commented saying they wont be offered through KS, but through the website... Great...

    8. Alex Clarke on September 6, 2013

4 days to go... If you want to catch those who prefer a PS4/Vita version before the KS ends, you better hurry up. There are those who can't/will not use Paypal and will only be able to pay through Amazon payments with KS.

      After some deliberation
i decided i will pull out my pledge as i do not want to support a PC game which will later be watered down to appeal to a console gaming crowd. Yes yes alot of you have faith that that will not happen but really, i rather not take the risk to be supporting a console game. Thanks and good luck to the devs.

Honestly I play many platforms and a cloud save feature to share saves from steam to PS4 and Vita would be best Steam and PSN accounts are already linkable for games like Portal 2. This is a little used feature but with make leaps and bonds setting a benchmark for next Gen Gaming where the lines of console,PC gaming and Portable Gaming all blur together.

    13. Eric C on September 5, 2013

I think the easiest way is to include the ps4 OR PS vita as an add-on to the existing tiers. If the cost is the same, then just have it as a survey at the end if you want the PS4/PS vita or PC version.

    14. St. McDuck on September 5, 2013

YES. Great news. You should even consider cross-save functionality, for those of us who plan to buy it for both the PS4 and the Vita.

    15. Lowtan Israel on September 5, 2013

I only decided to pledge after I saw the news of a PS4/Vita version. Smart move. when i have a few extra dollars to spare I plan to give more.

    16. Ivy Horng on September 5, 2013

YES Vita version!!! I'm really interested in that one. Portability ftw :) Looking forward to the info!

    17. Ole Andreas Gresholt on September 5, 2013

Actually i think this title would be lovely for my PSVita, awesome update! ^^

Would appreciate a tier that includes PC/PS4/Vita all in one or failing that, the ability to buy extra copies on other platform via add-ons. I want it on everything :D

Nice, a PS4 version. But as mentioned before: can we choose once the game is ready? I'm still not sure if I want to upgrade my PC in the near future or make the switch to console gaming.

    21. Maxime on September 5, 2013

      Inquisitioner
I read your post and understood it. Your comment was maybe not developed enough, because it essentially said ''I hope the pc version doesn't suck because the game will be ported to consoles''. Also, multiplayer was mentioned as being a further stretch goal, which was ALSO available at other places on the site/wiki.
And you are not to judge who's comment is necessary or not. You haven't read the site, I'm pointing out that the information was said before. Times and again. And again.

    22. Inquisitioner on September 5, 2013

      @Maxime
Seriously, Not only did you not bother reading our comments, but you can't even bother addressing our main point of concern, which ironically is our concern. It's that we simply are worried that this decision is taken before the completion of the PC-version. We already know this is a PC game and don't want any further measures taken, but the opposite.

Then of course there is a possibility, as mentioned before, that measures are taken to make the future conversion from PC to Console transition smoother, which can result in changes to things such as UI and controls.I didn't think about the game being made to appeal to a wider audience for the console version as Yosharian mentioned, but he dose have a fair point. Because there is a reason consoles are sold in children's toys store while PC's aren't.

We have a right to be concerned with this and even raise it. Hopefully, our concern will be completely unnecessary; Which I'm hoping for of course because the less this news have impacts on the PC version, the better.

Maxime, your comment is completely unnecessary but thank you for prompting me to explain myself further. In conclusion, I have no complaints or negative feelings surrounding these news, I am merely skeptical of them and take the possible consequences into account, which you should as well.

    23. Chris // Punk on September 5, 2013

Absolutely wonderful! More platforms, making it more accessible. I can't wait to get my hands on this on my PS4 now :)

    24. Maxime on September 5, 2013

      @Yosharian
      @Inquisitioner
Seriously guys, not only didn't you read around the page/FAQ/past updates, you can't even read the comments under yours. The game is being made for PC then ported to other platforms. It's a -----point and click------ game. Isn't that enough PC for you guys?

    25. Mateus Romanini on September 5, 2013

Excellent! I want a Vita version.

    26. Piquemal Kevin on September 5, 2013

Very good choice, it's the reason who made me a backer just today. Please think about cross buy psvita/ps4.

@Kevin Lee, download codes aren't free. They have to pay to Steam, Gog, PSN, or any platform where they publish.

    28. Inquisitioner on September 5, 2013

I'd much prefer co-op support. Better a great game for one platform than a mediocre for several. Just hopes the PC version dose't take a beating due to this. Just my two cents.

    29. Tamás Vándorffy on September 5, 2013

Just heard about this project via a PS Vita news page. Upon hearing the news that another great game is coming to PS Vita (and of course the future PS4) I decided to make my pledge!

    30. Particle Accelerator on September 5, 2013

That would be two different costs when you factor in the licensing, heh. At the very least you may be able to choose digital (for pc or playstation) or for the best case for higher backers one physical copy and a choice of digital ...

    31. Kevin lee on September 5, 2013

Wait so I'm guessing we only get to choose one version of the game? or Because we have technically/funded bought the game do we get to get a copy on each of the platforms.

    32. Particle Accelerator on September 5, 2013

It's already been stated that it will be ported from PC to consoles, not the other way around nor at the 'same time'.

    33. Yosharian on September 5, 2013

I can't say I'm too pleased about this... I wonder what shortcuts and changes will be made to the game in order to make it work for the console in terms of UI, gameplay, difficulty, storyline, and what kind of game we, the PC guys, will end up with as a result. Too often games are made differently in order to fit a console and/or its audience. RPGs less so, perhaps, but even so. So not too pleased about this news, really. Perhaps I will withdraw my pledge, not sure.

    34. cthuun on September 5, 2013

i backed project phoenix here at Kickstarter.
i expect to receive whichever version i want via Kickstarter.
i would prefer a ps4 version - BUT i am not going to donate via paypal!!

@Emka they said they would make a port for iOS and Android if next devices are enough powerful for a nice port. 3DS is far behind in power terms even two years old 4S iPhone.
