As of this writing...
Kickstarter - $603,819
Paypal - $5,990

We've Passed $600,000 (because maaaaaaath)!

With each passing day, we're bouncing along ever closer to our second stretch goal of $650,000, giving us the opportunity to create fully explorable cities and towns and give you all more options during character creation!  With a little over $40,000 to go and the weekend for you to relax and for us to prepare and deliver more Project Phoenix-related updates during the week, we hope you'll be looking forward to a few things in store, including the gameplay video that will give you all an idea of what we have in mind!

An interview at Gematsu

If you need to whet your appetite on Project Phoenix news, check out the interview we did over at Gematsu where we go a bit into how the team was brought together, our thoughts on having the game be culturally immersive as you go from region to region, and difficulty settings for those who enjoy an extra bit of challenge!  Again, Playstation 4 news is still something ongoing and we'll have something much more tangible in September.

So hope you all have a great weekend!  We'll definitely continue working around the clock to give you something crunchy that you can sink your teeth into.  Hopefully something crunchier and more delicious than a potato chip! ;D

Gromber Fox: we are working on the 3dmodels right now, could you give me an example of what you are thinking on? I guess you can already see where we are heading on the mockup screenshot, the aim is clearly to capture that look in 3d.

    2. Gromber Fox on

love the last character´s concept art, it is possible to create the 3d characters similar without deformed head like FFVII? and why jrpgs games dont use turn based like lost oddissey and older games.

Was glad to read about the difficulty levels and NG+ in the interview. Good stuff.

      @ Trypetide

Considering the Combat uses a point and click system to control your party, I think you be fine without a controller. Although this is where the PS4 controllers shines =D
Won't mine the VITA version too with touchscreen and don't think it be that compatible with the XBone plus from what I read before, don't think this is going on the XBone unless I missed a update =p

      @Alzorath
Now the PS4 & Xone have Development kits totally PC-Friendly (they're already just PC in fact) so this is now a good perspective for multi-support games, in general.
And there is controller support =3

      ( @CIA, with rumbles !! )

" We'll definitely continue working around the clock to give you something crunchy that you can sink your teeth into."

Thank you for all your hard work. Everything presented so far has been great.

Personally... I'm glad that this is going to be a PC native release (very likely with controller support) - Generally speaking, I feel the potential for "PC to Console" port is much more fertile for good quality across the board these days due to advances in technology on both ends. (Unfortunately it doesn't work as well the other way around, though with new hardware coming up in the console market, this could change)

It would only be available after the end of Kickstarter, by Paypal, and without any of the "Kickstarter bonus" with them.
But it's not that CIA don't want to put a tier for the future PSN/PS4&VITA releases, they just can't without a signed contract between them and the editor.
In fact, they can't decide either what would be included or the price without their approval.
Like Hiro-san said before, you've have only two choices for this type of releases :

      1. donate to help the project being better and wait for the "Sony" versions to get released.
      2. just wait for the "Sony" versions to get released.

It's frustrating, but these ones will not totally be "indies" anymore (technically speaking).

If PS4 and VITA had a tier of their own I could see this happening. Like with nothing else included. The problem I see with that though is until the 120$ reward, it doesn't cost them much more per backer, as everything is digital. (I'm saying that because I guess if the publisher needs its cut for every PS sale, then it would have to be included in the pledge amount). Or maybe have it as an add-on. Add 40$ to your pledge and get your choice of PS4 or vita. I don't know.

    11. Trypetide on

It would be mostly possible after the Kickstarter, I don't think the contract would be finished by 11th
But "September" is vague, so... maybe ? =P

    12. Antonio Santana on

I hope the ps4 and vita games get a tier or at the end of the Kickstarter you can choose pc, vita or ps4 versions

    13. Juan Esponera on

Now that I've read the comments of that interview, I think that we're losing a lot of backers because PS4 and Vita versions are not considered in Kickstarter :(
It would be nice for the project to do something about it before the Kickstarter ends, unless if it aint possible.

    14. Juan Esponera on

Thanks for the interview link, it's always very interesting to learn new aspects and opinions about the game.

It's already been confirmed by Hiro himself that the Gameplay video that's been hinted at for over a week now will not be actual gameplay footage. It's going to be Hiro doing his best to describe the vision they have of how the gameplay will work, along with sketches to help illustrate those ideas.

@Ty Hanna, ah I see. My mistake then, sorry.

I think you mean "wet" instead of "whet"

    19. TheChosenOne on

Just screens and mockups I guess. Which is good enough for me.

      David on

I got the sense from another update that this isn't going to be actual gameplay footage, but rather an in depth discussion of gamplay and mechanics with video to help demonstrate, but I could be wrong. I just don't want people to get their hopes up and the be like wtf is this?

    21. Blake on

Weekends aren't for relaxing. They're for having fun and seeing if you can out-drink a pony :)

    22. Andrew on

I too am looking forward to the gameplay video. Hopefully it'll bring in a new surge of backers!

    23. Malfet on

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to gameplay video update, it's a very impressive thing you're able to do one this quickly.
