Dear backers,

If you do celebrate Halloween, we hope you've had a great Halloween. For those that don't celebrate Halloween, we hope you have had a great holiday!

We don't have much to report currently as we're mainly focussing on working on the narrative and the music at the moment.

In November, we'll have a good musical structure on the journey ahead. We also would want Nobuo Uematsu to take more role in the making of music as we've re-directed a lot of the budget we've made in the past few years towards music.

On the note on Audio, myself, Tomoki Miyoshi and Yoshihiro Sakaguchi has been nominated for Best Audio by Golden Joystick Awards for our work on I am Setsuna. We are prepared to do go even further with Project Phoenix, as many of you know, my career started from the music side of development.

Feel free to ask questions or suggestions in regards to music, we will be clamping shut our final directions of it by the end of December.

"I've heard what you had to say, and similar comments, but we are adamant to keep ploughing through to finish the game, no matter your opinions that we won't be able to make it. My apologies about my thick headedness but this is our dream. You can trample on it, dis it as much as you want, but we're going to keep on going nonetheless."

what a lovely proud comment i mean you got 15,802 backers pledged $1,014,600 to help bring this project to life. so you must be do something right?.... right? O wait, your not.

how about you an your team donate $50+ an encourage others to bring my dream project to life, i'll flesh out nice story tell you about few awesome people going help me an after i don't know 3+ years or so, tell you am still working on it just things are going slow an need more time but if you wait once a month i may tell you about the music or drawing i got done.....

believe in your dream all you want, whatever game you make will never be worth the time or money invested. the real reason you don't do refunds is you don't want eat the cost of refunds since it will cost you to refund even half the backers who would love to cuts ties an leave the sunken ship you swear still floats on the dream.

I seem to have lost e-mail notifications on updates from this particular KS? Anyone know how I can re-subscribe or turn on update e-mails?

      Thank you for the update.

Thanks for the update and wishes. Unfortunately for a lot of us in America the real terror didn't happen during Halloween. It's starting now and it will go on for at least next 4 years. :(

This game will be awesome! I said. No haters here. Hate is a disease.

Clear your minds and hearts from hatred, and you will see the truth.

Life is too short for all this anger, guys. Things haven't been moving quickly, that's for sure, but welcome to game development. If you're not willing to accept the risks of delays and loss of investment, you shouldn't be investing in games on Kickstarter. Investments always pose some form of risk. In this case, we ended up with a protracted development cycle. There's no indication that we're not going to get the game, though. What's your anger going to do? It certainly isn't going to speed anything up. Chill out. Do something constructive while you wait. Take deep, slow breaths. You're okay, buddy.

Thanks for the update. Sounds all good so far.

At the end only one thing matters: that the Project get finished right. For that I'm a Backer. All other doesn't really matter for me. I didn't pledged to see the complete development process, so this updates are enough for me, more is only a not needed Bonus for me. But sure, that is only my attitude.

You pointed out that Assets for the first act was done, meaning the game dev is progressing. In my opinion, this was something to say in the update, not in comments ^^
But, knowing the game dev is still ongoing is good to read :)
Keep going on guys o/ it will take Time but PP will come, sooner or later !

PS: love the Ru-chan art !

David >> It's a fair comment, and I tend to agree with you from your point of view. There are a few facts I want to remedy.

      1) We have enough assets to finish the first Act. We are preparing assets for other acts.
      2) Core system is completed. We are working on tooling. I also have a reason to not go into details for this just yet, we're looking to announce what we've been planning for the last six months. We're nearly there, I'm here to listen to what everyone has to say, and I know till we have something solid to show, you all have the right to yell at me and I accept full responsibility for that. Once it's out, perhaps you can go easy on me.
      3) We've directed funds to music but not once did we say or imply that we don't have enough funds for stuff outside of music...

I've heard what you had to say, and similar comments, but we are adamant to keep ploughing through to finish the game, no matter your opinions that we won't be able to make it. My apologies about my thick headedness but this is our dream. You can trample on it, dis it as much as you want, but we're going to keep on going nonetheless.

This project has been an absolute joke...

Your only developer has no visible experience in game development outside of web and mobile games, and nothing outstanding there. The fact that this game promised AAA talent is hilarious as the role that should definitely be AAA talent is the one where you lack it. It might be harsh for me to put your developer down, but given that we've had nothing but empty promises for over 3 years and what we finally get is someone who honestly doesn't seem qualified for what was promised.

You're still at the stage where you're -preparing- for creating assets, and according to the update back in September, the majority of core systems for this game are still not completed. Even recently you were only working on concept art... What the hell was going on during the time you were trying to find a developer? I can understand things needing to be re-worked and a possible change in direction or scope, but it honestly seems as you've done nothing to this point.

And now you say you've re-directed funds towards more music in the game, when you have nothing to show for anything else. You've been scarce with concept art, there's little to nothing to show on the programming front, you definitely have little to show with in-game art from what you've said about still working on tooling, and yet you still have never even once offered a refund to the people who are disappointed in this project.

Sorry, but 8 sentences, most of which was about music once again, is not enough to really satisfy anyone but your most die-hard fans. I really hope you don't disappoint them as you've disappointed so many of other backers of this projects. I'm glad I didn't back for more than I did, because it honestly seems I could have flushed it down the toilet and gotten similar value.

Keith Blyth >> Sorry for your frustration. We weren't planning an update last week, and I thought it would be good to have an illustration out today. Hence, the past tense when I mentioned Halloween.

And as we've mentioned before, we do have a programmer working on the game at the moment, however, the focus for me is developing other parts of the game since the programming is involved about tooling and that's really not that exciting.

I am sorry the update is disappointing to you, and I hope we can change that in the near future.

Sad as it is to say this update actually perfectly sums up this entire project ...
Firstly Halloween was last week, this showcase the lack of organisation and direction I fell emanating from the project.

Secondly the complete lack of information on actual progress on the game is startling. It's almost as if the game is secondary to the music. We have not heard of any progress with the actual development of the game in a long while. It was not that long ago that we where told that you did not have a programmer in place.

Søren Müller >> The coding hasn't been forgotten. We're working on tooling so when we mass produce assets, it'll be very easy for us to implement. We hope to show more in the next few months.

Its good to hear, that the progress is not halted..
And it sounds good, that the sounds/music will be awesome..
But what about the game ?, I mean, what the progress on the game its self (coding wise)...
Seem like you focus on music and forget the code the game !!
Any time near future backers can see any sign of in-game content ??
