Designing backer characters

Posted by CIA, Inc. (Creator)

Dear Project Phoenix backers,

Thank you for all the feedback in Update #132 "Release... the Kraken!". Many of the comments were very helpful in gathering valuable opinions on how we should start the story, which I believe is a very important point. It's important to talk and take opinions from all the backers as our gut feeling about what your opinion may be and what it actually may well be entirely different.

I have had the time to talk to Yoko about the comments posted from our last update and you all have given confidence in our decisions. Thanks again!

Here's a photo of Asami working on Rie's avatar concept sketch inside the game. We are currently working on what the best backer character design pipeline is for backers above the Civilian level. Hopefully by the end of the month, we should have completed our test trials and be able to start working on the character creation process with those selected backers.

Next update should also shed more light on the game music creation process, and finger's crossed, we may have a new track from Tomoki soon.

Apologies for the short update, but back to work we go. As always, thanks for reading!

      I couldn't agree more with @Keith McCoy and @Mrfatso, small updates are updates, this show us you're working on PP :) !
      To be honest, I'd rather have 10 small updates like that, showing us small pieces of work, than a single update every 6 months that show us the same thing.

      Anyway, keep going, don't listen to crybabies, we're still a large number of backers behind you, guys !

      @Hugo B.
      You don't read the updates and you ask for something explained in it ... 2018 for the ETA.

      Ya, that is true, with these small bite size updates, it's easier to get positive about every and any progress shown.

      I have projects from 2010 which are still ongoing, so what if this was backed in 2015, it is still early compared to those.

      You should not apologize for a short update. As others have said, if you keep to the schedule of small updates that happen often (with the occasionally big update)...I think most people will gradually get more and more positive about this Kickstarter again. The amount of negativity is already starting to slow down, which is a MASSIVE breath of fresh air around here.

      @Hugo B. certainly not.

      @David Ryu, you are right, doesn't stop most of us being concerned. We just haven't seen much in the past and we aren't seeing much now. We've heard excuses and stories and 'directions' before .. but at the end of the day .. we just haven't been seeing anything concrete and eventually we will all lose hope this goes anywhere.

      Thank you for keeping this update schedule! And though I am not one of the design tier backers, hearing that this is being worked on is great!

      Hugo B., were you hiding in a cave while the Phoenix team went in detail to explain why the project is being delayed, what caused the problem, and how they are planning to go about forward with the development, and even the estimated release year? Yes, the game is heavily delayed, but such is a reality of small game studio trying to venture on a rough sea by crowd funding their game instead of relying other investments. It is a risk they took and people who support them supported them regardless. You being completely oblivious about any information whatsoever is on you.

      Am I the only one who is concerned about the delivery? The release was planned mid 2015, they raised 10x the minimal amount and all we get is some character sketch? And everyone just likes each update as if this is progress..?! Would be great to get an update on whats actually being built and the new estimated release date. Thanks.

      Oooh how neato. Its been a while since ive seen the pant/short look in a character design.

      Keep it up, guys!
      It doesn't matter if the updates are short. We like to have news often!
      Looking forward to more music!! :)
