About this project
We have had a lot of interest to swing the tour through Seattle, so we like to please and have added Seattle as a stop on tour! This also means we will be adding a 5th LGBTQ Organization to benefit from tour. Win-Win!
Also, we have confirmed our 5th headliner to play all show, the wild, wacky and super talented Conquistador.
Queer Music Benefit Summer Tour 2013 will be unlike anything happening right now and so important. Suicide rates among LGBTQ people are a much higher than straight folks. Let's together detach the stigma attached to Mental Health Issues and talk about it. This is our chance to make a difference! No more sitting on the side line and waiting for some else to do it. This is our time!
The importance of funding the Tour:
When this kickstarter is funded it will make it possible for the show to go on and we'll be able to make money to help out all of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters! All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to organizations listed below as well as sponsor donations. This is our chance to show how much we care!
Benefitting from tour:
Portland, OR: Q Center
Seattle, WA: Pride Foundation
We have put together the most exciting headliners for this tour! Logan Lynn from Portland OR, Big Dipper from Chicago, Rica Shay from NYC San Francisco's own Darling Gunsel and Conquistador! All of these guys will blow your socks off!
This will be a 5 city tour: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and New York City.
With Kickstarter funding we are creating wallet sized cards and distributing them at all shows with National information/Resources for Mental Health Services and Suicide Prevention.
This is how we need your help and love!
This is why we need your help, $1, $20 or $1,000! It all adds up and will make this tour possible so we can rock out and make money for these amazing organizations.
Your help will cover: travel, hiring sound people, production manager, posters, flyers, booking venues, promotions, money to pay acts etc etc. oh and I think we have to feed the performers too lol Oh and I forgot to mention we are making some awesome tour t-shirts that will be designed by well known queer artists, which is part of the rewards on the side. So, even if you cant make any of the shows your donations are still extremely important and you can proudly say that you made a difference in our community and care.
Risks and challenges
We fully understand that this tour is huge undertaking with large responsibilities and challenges ahead. This project is funded by passion now (ohh I got goose bumps!) Whatever happens from this time forth, the show must and will go on.
This project is a work in progress but know that we have turned it into our FULL TIME job until it happens!
Hugs and Smooches all around!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
