Update on 2/4/2014

Thank you to everyone that has pledged so far! Special shout out to Jesse for his generous pledge of $500.01 (he wanted to be the biggest pledge) It will go a long way to making this Kickstarter huge! Remember you get 27 songs for the $25 pledge so if you are interested I think it is a grand bargain. Also don't forget the records are gone once they are spoken for, I will not be making anymore so that makes them kind of rare!

Again, thank you to everyone so far and I look forward to talking to all of you soon! The masters have been made and now one more trip to the studio to create the fabulous end product and then out to the fans!

Only about one more day to go, so get in now so you can say you were on the list of the original supporters! That means a lot to me and I will never forget your support!

Update on 1/16/2014

Thank you to everyone that has pledged so far and pushed this thing over the top! Rose and David tie for hitting the magic number! I have been to the studio and the music has been digitized! Now we have to finalize the discs and make sure they are ready to be sent to everyone. We also have to contact the online sales stores and pay them to get them ready for online distribution.

People have been asking me what the funds will be used for over the pledge goal. If we get enough pledges we can make things like posters, t-shirts and other fun items like USB thumb drives with Spiff on them! Well there are several things that will make this thing bigger and better and here is a list of those items:

New Controller - $999
New Controller - $999
New Keyboard - $599
New Keyboard - $599
New Audio Interface - $250
New Audio Interface - $250

So anything you can pledge will help make this Kickstarter bigger and better! Thank you again for all of your support so far and I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Also, technically Spiff has gone international with pledges from the U.K. and that is AWESOME! Shout out to Lindsay and Sam, thank you very much!

In the late eighties I started making music at home, late at night after work. I would come home and play until dawn until I got it just right. After working on several songs for months I took a tape (yes TAPE, this was before CD's for you young people) down to a local dance club and they started playing my music for the crowds. One night Richard Blade was working the DJ booth and he asked the resident DJ what he was playing and he responded by pointing at me on the dance floor, when the song was over he asked me if I could make a copy for the radio and he told me that he would play it on KROQ the next week.

That was when everything changed and I started playing gigs all over southern California and that led to opening up for a Flock of Seagulls. That was an awesome evening for sure! I picked up my nickname (Spiff) in the army and it has stuck so I use that for my stage name.

My first real kick starter was when I was working at a car lot. One of the other employees used to sit in one of the cars for sale and listen to the music I would make at night and he liked what he heard so he encouraged me to make an album. One day he dropped by my new job and gave me some cash to get the album made and that was awesome too! So off I went and created "Music At Last" and started touring multiple states.

Shortly thereafter I started working on two more albums, so now I have three in total and that is where you come in. I would like to digitize those albums and get them onto the internet so I can start earning enough money to start a fourth album. With your help I can pay the costs of the studio time and fees for getting the songs ready for sale on Amazon and iTunes. You will of course get copies of the songs if you contribute to my kick starter campaign and then I can start a database of fans to keep updated while I continue my music career.

Here is a link to an online auction that executed in 2012 for a sealed copy of Music At Last!

I am pretty sure the copies I have look better than this, they are still stored in the original boxes they were shipped in!

Risks and challenges

The risks for this project should be minimal but they could be something like not being able to digitize the albums, honestly I don't see this as a problem given that I have visited the studio where the work is to be done, I am certain that this can be accomplished without any trouble.
