"LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE DAY I DIED."
So begins the story of Roman citizen Aulus Aurelius, who, along with his family, was murdered for his faith in AD 67. Since then, he has observed Earth from Heaven and now writes these letters to the modern Christian. With unique insights on eternity, prayer, and the Kingdom of God, he will challenge you to live with boldness and passion.
“Many nights I was unable to sleep. I would pace in our garden, staring at the stars and pleading with God. I had three requests: One, that I would remain faithful to the Gospel. Two, that if need be, I would die in a way that pleased Him. And three, that my wife and children would not suffer. Two of my requests were granted.” - Aulus Aurelius
LETTERS FROM A MARTYRED CHRISTIAN is a collection of fictional letters designed to entertain and inspire. You will continue thinking about the stories long after you are done reading. With a format similar to C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters or Charlie Shedd's Letters to Philip and Letters to Karen, Letters From a Martyred Christian is an easy read that you can consume one letter at a time or all at once.
In addition to being a great reading for individuals, the book is designed to be used in book clubs and small group studies with discussion questions at the end. Imagine bringing an ancient Christian martyr to your small group or Sunday school class and you'll get the picture.
The first draft is finished and we are in the process of cover design, editing, and typesetting.
We have secured distribution through the largest Christian book distributor in the world and intend to get LFMC in major bookstores.
The $7000 is the minimum needed for the book printing in a cost-effective quantity. This will allow us to fulfill our kickstarter pledges. Our full need is more in the $20,000 to $30,000 range to finalize distribution, hire a publicist, create a marketing campaign, and enter catalogs shipped to bookstores nationwide.
Not only will our campaign follow traditional routes, but we intend to push a very strong word-of-mouth/guerilla marketing campaign. If you would be interested in helping us get this project in thousands of hands across the country, please check out The Aulus Project on the book's website (shown above.)
The soft release (when your books and such should be shipped) should be around January of 2012. The full release with a target market of the Easter crowd, with book signings and the like should be in March 2012.
Book Specs: 4.25" x 7" 160 pages - Matte Finish Covers
A Note About Special Editions and Framed Prints:
Some of our gifts offered include signed and numbered special editions and framed prints.
The number of each will be determined by the number of people who give at that category level. (If 10, then the editions will be signed and numbered as 1/10,2/10, through 10/10.) Donors giving the highest amounts will be assigned the earlier numbers with remaining numbers assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.
In other words, the most generous donor on that category level or above will receive the first numbered copy and so on. If more than one gives the same amount, the editions will be numbered based on who placed their pledge first.
