In a post-apocalyptic world, a surly huntress with an affinity for retro jams and an inquisitive ex-medical student depend on each other's skills and companionship to survive.
DEADZONE is a 20-minute film that takes place in the dead of winter in the middle of nowhere. We're shooting in upstate New York in February with a final edit goal for March. From there, DEADZONE will be submitted to film festivals around the country.
This is a passion project for director RAFE KAREN. Drawing his inspiration from the work of Quentin Tarantino, RAFE presents a thrilling, sarcastic, sardonic twist to the "Post-Apocalyptic" genre. He has an eye for detail, and he's gathered a team of film enthusiasts who are in it for the excitement of being a part of something spectacular.
A beautiful original score composed by Andrew Koehler. Below is an example of his work that will be very similar to the DEADZONE score.

We chose Kickstarter to host our crowdfunding campaign because of its "All Or Nothing" funding approach. If we don't make our initial goal within 30 days, everyone gets a refund, and DEADZONE can't get made. We believe in this project, and we wanted to show you how much we believe in it by choosing Kickstarter. Just so there's no question about it, we've laid out a pie chart describing where your money is going.

Risks and challenges
As our production is set to take place in the middle of the woods in the middle of February, there is a strong chance that we will be caught in bad weather. If it is looking ahead of time that the weather will be bad, we will postpone the shoot for one week. If we get unexpected bad weather in the middle of shooting, we will make do with what we can. We'll be bringing lots of tarps, extra clothing, glove warmers, umbrellas, and do our best to not get our equipment wet.
Since this is a low-budget film, all of our crew and talent are volunteers, which lends a greater risk to last-minute cancellations. That said, our crew members all wear many hats, and if a cancellation happens, we can make it work to fill the gap.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
