One of the things we have promised to our backers is access to our forums. We are now ready to announce that the forums are open and invite you there.

Before we do, there are some things we would like to say: and I am sorry if this is going to be a bit technical.

Kickstarter – for obvious and very sensible reasons – does not share your email addresses with us until after the end of the campaign. For this reason we are only able to contact you by Kickstarter’s own messaging system. On the other hand we want you to have the right forum badge now, so we need a way of matching you to your pledge. We do this by sending you a unique code that you enter when creating your forum account.

Taken together this means we need to send a unique message to every backer via Kickstarter internal message system. This is going to be a slow process. We are asking you for patience, we think that all current backers should receive a message from us within next 48 hours.

The accounts that were not authenticated by the code have read-only access to forums anyway, so you will gain nothing by registering early. If you haven't entered your code during registration, you can always do it after, by editing your user preferences.

We hope you are going to like our forums and we shall be able to get into some real discussion about Kingdom Come: Deliverance. See you there!

Help, please - cannot login to KC:D forum as no matter how often I keep trying, it seems I'm not getting those activation emails the forum claims to have sent me on each retry. And yes, the forum prompts show my correct email address that is otherwise working just fine, and no, I checked my spam folders and no mails from Warhorse got stuck in there. Is there any way to contact KC:D forum staff to fix this? Thanks.

I can't log in either. Worked OK yesterday, but not now. I'm getting the "unknown error" as well.

    6. David W on February 4, 2014

Anyone else having problems logging in? I registered successfully and was able to log in last night, and even successfully made two posts.

However this morning, the two posts I made have gone "poof!", and every time I try logging in I keep getting Unknown Error.

      Waiting for the code...

    12. Jan Vogel on February 3, 2014

I've got a question: Are you finished with contacting the backers? Because I didn't get a message.

    13. Miroslav Jaroš on February 3, 2014

Kyle, I think you have to send msg to Warhorse and ask for new code.

I just upgraded my pledge from Soldier(digital) to Baron(digital) and already signed up on the forums beforehand, do I need another code to get the Baron forum badge?

    16. Miroslav Jaroš on February 3, 2014

forum performance is killing me :(

So whats stopping people from making a £5000 pledge then changing it back to £15 after they've redeemed the Saint forum badge?

    18. Ivan Kerin on February 3, 2014

Kudos to your web team for trying out Discourse - since it was released I've always wanted to see how much better it really is than traditional forum software, now I'll have the chance to try it out with a forum I actually want to participate in :)

The current skin needs just a bit more work to make it perfect, but I'm sure you'll fix all the ruff edges in your own time.

How can I send another verification email? The first one hasn't arrived and I can't do anything without a verified account.

    20. Javier Begazo on February 2, 2014

You shouldn't fragment your forums into different languages. It prevents the community from forming

Yes, one forum with only english would be better. So everbody can read the same things.

    22. LordCrash - OD | OOoE | WoOS on February 2, 2014

Hm, forum looks a bit strange.... Why are there no real subforums but these tags like "combat" instead??? And multiple languages are a bad idea imo....

    23. Antonio on February 2, 2014

      we broke the forums lol

    24. ZippyV on February 2, 2014

Are you guys going to send 18000 personalized messages using the Kickstarter messaging system? Isn't that a bit crazy? I can wait until the campaign is finished if that's easier for you.

This forum software is pretty good and it exactly answers the question I had asked during midnight. However I do not need RSS feed. Instead I get e-mail updates with the content I want to see.

    26. Miroslav Jaroš on February 2, 2014

I sent my post like 10 minutes ago, before Andreas, but it says "less than a minute ago" :)

    27. Miroslav Jaroš on February 2, 2014

      I think your forum/server is overloaded :(

    28. Missing avatar

Andreas Hamm on February 2, 2014

Your forum just crashed, your website can't be reached. THIS is a good sign. It means that many people are interested in your game and your (provider's) servers couldn't handle it. Your investor should now be even more convinced to support you.

pavel, forums are open to public, only backers can post at the moment. so moderators do not get call of duty kids and biofail trolls in there to deal with. i'm sure once things calm down they might open forum to paypal backers, then finally, everyone.

    34. avardereng of Sin - DOoD on February 2, 2014

Hmm, this can be messy with the forum badges, since people may change their pledge before the end. I updated my pledge 3times until now... :-)
However you can update the badges afterwards, but I don't want to be the person doing it, if its not possible to automatize... ;-)

    35. Pavel Stangel on February 2, 2014

Leaving any information exclusive only to backers is a bad idea, all updates and forum stuff should be open. I mean, backers are not the ones who need to be convinced to buy the game :)

    36. Deliverence on February 1, 2014

Never mind I see that until I receive the code I will only have read only access.

    37. Deliverence on February 1, 2014

I've created an account and verified it however the Reply button is greyed out in threads. I've checked that the thread isn't locked not sure what is going on, do the accounts take some time to be validated?

    38. Creator Warhorse Studios on February 1, 2014

@Marc: At the moment the whole forum is accessible to read, even without login. Your suggestion is something we didn't consider; it might be an interesting idea but on the whole I think any interesting information posted on such closed forum would leak very quickly.

I think the possibility to engage in discussion and help to shape the game is a more interesting option.

    39. Marc on February 1, 2014

@Warhorse Will the whole forum be accessible to everyone to read or do you plan to get sections in the forum which only people who pledge for the game can read to get first hand informations?

    40. Creator Warhorse Studios on February 1, 2014

@Andreas: RSS should be possible on Discourse.

    41. Creator Warhorse Studios on February 1, 2014

@Jared: In general, we won't be automatically tracking pledge changes during the campaign. After the campaign end, we are going to review all badges and set them to their final pledges.

However, if you want your badge changed, it's not a problem, just send a private message to the user Warhorse.

    42. Missing avatar

Andreas Hamm on February 1, 2014

@Warhorse Studios: I really hope you find someone. Maybe you can find a community manager to handle the forum and communication in general. I really like how you respond to every question but sooner or later, devs should be working on developing instead of communicating. :-)

By the amount of games which I backed, I just had visited one of the forums very often. But then after a while the game lacked of new real content and the new forum was a mess so I didn't bother visiting it every day. What I was missing in that certain new forum was a comfortable RSS-feed (or something similar to this) to get to know new topics and the first lines to read. Is that going to be possible with your forums?

Looks very nice. Looking forward to receiving the code.

I do have a question: If someone were to upgrade their pledge after they receive the code, but before the end of the Kickstarter, what would the process be for updating their badge?

    44. Creator Warhorse Studios on February 1, 2014

@Andreas: We don't have a German moderator yet, but we are looking for one.

    45. Missing avatar

Andreas Hamm on February 1, 2014

You're adding German to your forum section. Is someone of you going to be a German moderator? Maybe the Ex-Crytek dev (since CryTek is in Germany)? And will you be answering questions in German, too? I don't mind talking English, just asking how it's going to be.

Awesome! Can`t wait to discuss stuff with other fans and the creators of this game, very excited to accompany you all on this journey. However while I wait for the code to be sent, I think I`ll go to sleep, as its night over here right now. xD
