Is there any chance of getting both the digital *and* physical versions of things like the art book? Like Frikencio, I'm on Earl, but find some of the additional rewards more attractive in the digital format from the Viscount tier.
Your project has great potential, I look forward to for the alpa test :)
Re: "Soldier, Knight: 1 license, digital copy (Win/Mac/Linux/Xone) OR physical copy (Win/Mac/Linux) "
I'm glad to see that restriction for the Mac version to Baron and above has been removed. We don't do windows here and I wanted to keep my pledge at the Knight level for now.
¿How can I get the "3d printer ready action model" without downgrading my pledge from Earl?
Also if I can't do that can I add $24-32 to my total donation for an extra digital or physical copy?(Soldier)
So if I get Baron do I get 1 digital copy and also 1 physical copy? Can I get a digital Windows copy and a Xbox One Physical copy(or vice-versa)?
Also if I can't do that can I add $24-32 to my total donation for a digital or physical copy?(Soldier)
Please do not make this the usual Kickstarter rush job!!!
Take your time, this has REAL potential!!!
I'm waiting for the 'LORD' Tier... Bring it on...
I am *very* happy with this update ! The deal with Microsoft is great news & I'm looking forward to playing the game on my Xbox One in the future !
Funny how people get worked up about making controls for consoles but fail to see controls are already done, even in first gameplay video one of devs plays with controller. Many people plays with controler on PC too these days so almost every game makes it possible.
So, anyone have any wagers on what the first third-party mods will be after the tools are released?
Regarding the console release: So on Baron (Special Edition), I get both the physical and the digital edition. How do you manage that they are both use same license? Will there be an extra code you have to enter for the physical version? Otherwise one could keep the digital version and sell the physical edition.
@Johnathan Glass Devaney - Because cosoles are tightly controlled platforms and thus it is upon approval by Sony not upon us. Both versions were at the same price until Microsoft approved the deal. When we come to similar agreement with Sony, we will be able to guarantee the same price.
@Senekha, Zombra - We will optimize the game for all target platforms and fully respect their standards regarding controls and setting (different FOVs for example).
Monday feels so far away, far far away...
I really hope the PC version (Win or Linux) will be good. That's the only version that matters for me. Far too many multi platform titles sucks on PC...
@Jonathan, possibly because PS4 versions of digitally distributed multiplatform games are more expensive than their Xbone counterparts.
Hi, since you're using the Cryengine to simplify development, would you also be using a similar upscaler to Ryse so that it can display at 1080p on XBONE? Thanks!
Why is the PS4 version more expensive than the Xbone version? That's messed up. :(
Honestly, I'm out. I think that's just crap.
Awesome glad the Xbox one version is re confirmed with clarification from MS, This will be awesome on the Xbox one.
@ Logan, Zombra etc. The game has been planned and designed as a multi-platform release from the start, so I don't see why today's announcement should make any difference?
Upgraded to Viscount!
Thank you for providing more digital tiers / rewards. While I would love some of the physical stuff, I simply can't take on more physical "stuff" at this stage in my life. My hard drives have plenty of space though... :)
Thank you for not leaving out OS X users. I pledged when I read it was multi platform.
Goodluck getting through certification for Microsoft and Sony. With the new consoles being out, I'm not sure they fully have the new process being out. With any luck they'll have a solid set of guidelines for you by the time you reach that stage of development.
Not excited about cross-development for consoles as it may have a negative impact on the PC experience. I am maintaining my pledge for the time being, but would love it if Warhorse could explain in some detail why the impact will be minimal.
Yeah, it also means that much more money (and free time!) goes to developers which is good for the game quality, eventually.
I was excited to see this come to the PC, but as an Xbox One owner--and primarily a console gamer--this is exciting news. The more platforms, the better, and if it appears to be comparable to the PC version in scope, I'll likely choose a console edition. (I don't have a "gaming PC" at home.)
Nothing indicates that PS4 or Xbone are the target platforms for this game, and I hardly think console controls are going to be a limiting factor, either (I'm not really seeing KC:D's combat being endlessly more versatile with my WASD/rodent combo). Console hardware is not an issue as much as it has been before - the biggest drawback has been limited memory. As far as visual quality goes, well, CryEngine 3 scales pretty well, so they probably can tweak the console versions just right, and let PC owners try to kill their machines.
Besides, why shouldn't console gamers be allowed to enjoy this game, too? They need a bit of 15th century Central Europe in their lives.
You had me at "Mafia 2 writer and creator." The much maligned Mafia 2 had one of the most mature and better written dialogue, character, and plot I've seen in a video game. Far superior to what they call characters and plot in GTA V.
This is the first time I've backed a kickstarter project. I can't wait for the promise of a Mafia/Mafia 2 like story line in Medieval time minus the soul crushing missing open world/development issues of Mafia 2 (oh what a game that could've been if it wasn't rushed).
Please make me believe again that games can have both excellent game play and writing/dialogues/story/character development (cough, Skyrim, cough). Looking forward to it!
Do what you need to do man. I know comparison to Skyrim isn't really fair since they had almost unlimited funds, but having played Skyrim on console and the PC, the PC is leaps and bounds better even though they were made at the same time.
Also, Warhorse has already said they fully support modding. Don't like a "clunky" menu? Wait two weeks - someone will have options for you.
Just my thoughts. I would rather give them my money now for the price of a few cups of coffee in hopes that they have enough to make it the best it can be, but I get where you are coming from.
Although I think your hearts in the right place, what @Dragonbait said is true, no matter how distastefully he put it.
The game will more than likely suffer now that's heading to consoles. This tends to be the trend once developers decide to go both ways. It's an unfortunate side-effect of reaching a larger number. Although it's great for the developers, those who want a pure experience simply won't get it. Interfaces have to be reworked, controls tend to be more limited, graphics have to be scaled back a bit from the 'highest' that a top-end PC could handle. Of course these may seem like silly reasons ... but it's enough to for me to remove my pledge as well.
In the end, I hope to eat my words. And if so, my loss, I'll buy the game at full price. I tend to root for developers like this and had the console ports come after the game was completed it's one thing, but now they will be built side-by-side and I just have a bad taste in my mouth.
Good luck to all those involved. I'll still follow the progress, but with a bit less enthusiasm.
kudos to Microsoft for appreciating a good game, ironic since xbox 1 is touted as a full entertainment system vs ps4 being a game focused system.
@Dragonbait What? Act I is the entire game - 30+ hours of game play for one $24 dollars. Great value - especially when compared to something like Metal Gear Rising which is $40 for 5-6 hours of game play. Think of acts II and III as expansion packs, not part of the original game.
And what could possible be "dumbed down" for consoles? If anything, the PC version will be great, and the consoles will suffer from their limited control schema. Solution: Don't buy the console version.
Thanks for the update.
Will be removing my pledge, I wanted a backing for all three acts at a reasonable price which evidently won't be happening. And if the games being dumbed down to work with consoles controllers then I'm not interested any more.
Excellent update! True fan support is shown with this one. Great job Warhorse!
@Roeslein - Yes. Only PS4 version is now limited to Baron tier and above. Previously it apllied to both console versions.
@cthuun - No agreement with Sony about digital distribution so far. Stay tuned.
As it is stated in the update they came to an agreement with Microsoft but not with Sony so far.
Thank you for the update. Your work and efforts are appreciated.
No PS4 version but Xone on the soldier and knight tiers? How come?
Bye baron and hello viscount :) I am looking forward to the next video update.
So, can you get the Mac version at the Knight tier? FAQs say you don't. This is confusing.
I think they are still talking with sony to bring it to psn.
Thanks! But you should have made add-ons for the map and screenplay, rather than offering them for free to higher tiers - you'd get more money that way ;-) Since I was thinking of moving to the Duke tier anyway, I've upgraded my pledge to show my appreciation.
First on the Viscount tier! Thank you for adding this tier, I really wanted the Art Book in a digital form, and this provides it.
