We are totally passionate about classical chamber music.
To be a musician involved in a performance of one of the great pieces from this art form is to be engaged at a tremendously high degree – all ones senses are at peak levels, you are concentrating like never before, relying on your hours and years of preparation to leave the mundane and try to rise to the genius of the composer, to speak his or her thoughts, to be the music.
And when all the elements come together – the hall is great, the piece is fabulous, the performance is going well and the audience is with you on every note – eureka - everyone is involved in the communal creation and enjoyment of beauty!
It is this passion that we bring to the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival and Institute. We will have eight concerts in the nine day festival, a chamber music institute for young musicians from the Balkans and beyond, and the world premiere of a new String Quartet written for the festival by American composer Eric Moe.
We are thrilled to have so many world class musicians coming to Sarajevo and excited to be able to perform there for these people who value music so much. The response in student registrations has been overwhelming. Since I made the video above more applications have come in and we now have 45 young violinists, violists, cellists and pianists from Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and the United States eager to participate in these nine days of complete chamber music immersion.
We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to establish a Chamber Music Festival in this beautiful European capital, to bring music to a country still healing from its recent conflict and to perform for a people who have so clearly demonstrated that, in their lives, music is not only a luxury, but a necessity.
We appeal to the Kickstarter community to enable us to share this passion with the people of Sarajevo.

The aims of the Festival are four fold: to present world class chamber music concerts in Sarajevo, to foster collaborations between musical artists of diverse societies, to establish a chamber music institute where young musicians can come and immerse themselves in this great art, and to assist the Music Academy of Sarajevo in regaining its pre-war stature. It is our hope that in years to come Sarajevo and this Festival will be seen as a center for chamber music, offering a place where people can enrich and enlighten themselves through the study and enjoyment of this fabulous art form.
