BackerKit and Game Mat - short info

Posted by Board&Dice (Creator)

Hello Agents!

First of all, Happy New Year! May 2019 be the best and have only the good adventures and awesome games.

Thank you so much for your activity!

1,084 out of 1,254 finished their surveys on In BackerKit - that is just excellent - thank you a lot for completing that.

We have started the process of charging your cards for add-ons you have picked and/or shipping costs, the system included. And here we have one crucial info: cards charging is going through NSKN Games stripe, and thus you will see this charge as coming from NSKN Games. No need to worry, as you can see in one of the latest updates, we are merging, so this is entirely ok, and you don't need to worry that it's any "different or unknown" company.

We just want to give you a full knowledge of the process.

For all group pledges, we will contact you guys next week, so you will also be able to close everything in the system.

The second thing is a game mat.

We have searched for the comments in the project, including your expectations, and we have implemented all elements, which (in our opinion) did not influence the gameplay or our concept.

Please check this project:

We would like to know what do you think about it, so please feel invited to share your comments here.

Thank you!

It's been a while since we've heard about the gasme mat. Do you hadve new info or pictures of the revised layout?

@jtalle - the fulfillment date is October 2019.

      Good looking mat.

When should we expect our games, again?

I'm not able to read the boxes that have information in them @ them bottom of the mat so I'm not sure if they relate directly to the cards area they are near or not. But I'm wondering if having those boxes with that information wouldn't be better if they were running along the top of the mat. Then maybe a version of the suspicion counter running left to right below them. Then the spots for cards could be laid out basically as it is now. I think it might clean up and organize the mat some, and make the cards more accessible for playing too. Anyone have any other thoughts?

@Terry, you can find the details on Backer Kit.
      Of course short blurb:
Size: 500x480 mm, and 1.5mm thick
      Material: Neoprene

What are dimensions for this mat?

Regarding the playmat I need to say that I dislike the suspicion counter as it is shown. The reason is that I do a lot of things on the playmat and I already see me oving the counter unexpected. I would more like to see a two column counter. One as seen 0-9 and a second one moving in steps of ten from 00-60. They easily would fit on the left side too.

@Jorge - No. The play mat is an add-on. It was never declared that it would be a part of PnP content. You will have a player board in PnP content.

    9. Jorge Peña on

I assume the playmat will be included in the PnP content, isn't it?

Another idea would be to have the suspicion tracker phase through colors starting at less contrasting color to more contrasting color. That may help player get a better sense of danger level as the level of suspicion goes up. Could even make it a repeating pattern if different mission allow for higher suspicion levels before being caught. Say 1-20 a pattern 21-40 it repeats and also 41-60. I've never played the game so I'm just estimating a breakdown.

I like all the suggestions so far, definitely move the suspicion track out of the way, making the orange area diagonal stripes of orange so there is less color along with dimming of the orange.

To me it almost looks like you could move the 1 2 3 4 tracker that is near the suspicion tracker up and tucked more into the middle of the brd. Then the the suspicion tracker could be slide up a bit to start directly under the card in the top left and run in three lines of 20.

    13. Matt

I like it, with the suggestion of the suspicion track running around the top instead of the bottom. With so many cards being cycled, the odds of your hands/arms bumping the marker is really high.

Thanks for the update! Looks good, but +1 for the improvements suggested by Paw and Roy.

      I'm with Pow and Roy:
      - I'd much prefer the Suspicion track to be in a color that doesn't catch the eye so much (ex: another shade of blue or medium grey?) and if the icon is yellow everywhere else, and there's worry people won't understand, then the icon could simply be added as a key at the start of the track.
      - I'd prefer the Suspicion track to be at the top, but that's less important.
      Thanks for asking!

      *suspicion track not suspension, oy

Is the deadline still end of January?

      +1 suspension across the top

Once you finish the mat graphics are we going to have a chance to modify our order to obtain one? I was waiting for the final layout before adding this to my pledge.

Looking at this, I would prefer the scoring to go around the top of the mat. I can foresee the score tracking getting displaced. The mat overall looks great...

Only comment I have is that if the Suspicion track goes across the top instead of across the bottom, the act of placing cards has less chance of inadvertently moving the Suspicion tracker. Other than that, it looks great!

Looks nice, except the filled orange space is taking too much focus.
