Eldritch Skies is a Cthulhu science fiction setting for the Savage Worlds RPG, written by John Snead and published by BPI
Battlefield Press presents its 2013 ENnie Award winning setting, now for the Savage Worlds game system.
Setting created by John Snead (with additional material by A.J. Luxton), Savage Worlds conversion by Ian Liddle.
It is 2030. The Gilman-Hawking drive has given us access to the stars. But we are not alone. They're out there: aliens, gods and monsters. They're also down here. The Miskatonic Antarctic Expedition found the elder ones' city in 1931. The mi-go crashed in Roswell in 1947. In 1958, as quietly as possible, not knowing what we were doing, we bent occult powers to our hands and took the step to Mars. The third time, the men who made that step could not step back. We fled back into our cave for a while. But rocketry, and the Soviets, brought us back out soon enough. Competition took us to the moon. Uneasy teamwork saved the astronauts who would have died there among cyclopean, immemorial ruins. In 1994, human scientists cracked alien technology and overcame the lightspeed barrier. They brought us the stars. They also brought us the madness that lies between them, the mind-twisting undarkness of hyperspace. The future is here. Machine-made telepathy, augmentations, and unprecedented levels of automation have changed the face of Earth. But the science of sorcery, and our primitive understandings of what lies outside, have changed more than our minuscule planet. They've begun to let humanity out. We walk amongst giants. Tread carefully. This is a complete setting of Lovecraftian science fiction that uses the Savage Worlds game engine. As with all Savage Worlds settings, the Savage Worlds Deluxe from PEG is required for play. The text of the Eldritch Skies is finished.
The funds we collect will be used to pay layout, authors, and printing. The book is in layout and is nearly completed. We will still need to add the backers information to the book, along with a final editing pass and then ready the book for print. Upon completion of this kickstarter, every backer will gain an alpha release of this book, as it is generally complete. We will need to take about 45 days to do final editing and the addition of backer names to the book. The book will be released as a hardcover in standard 8.5 x 11" format.

"Hast thou entered into the depths of the sea, and walked in the lowest parts of the deep? Have the gates of death been opened to thee, and hast thou seen the darksome doors? Hast thou considered the breadth of the earth? tell me, if thou knowest all things? Where is the way where light dwelleth, and where is the place of darkness: That thou mayst bring every thing to its own bounds, and understand the paths of the house thereof." - Job 38:16-20
For untold centuries, ancient, eldritch beings have played mad games and carried out strange schemes on the peoples of the Earth. And for centuries, the Order of St. Rachel has stood against them.
The Order is the Catholic Church's secret army against Lovecraftian creatures. Armed with faith, courage and unsettling lore, the members of the Order fight a lonely crusade against entities that defy imagination.
As mankind takes to the stars, that war becomes ever more dangerous and ever more important. Join the Order as it seeks to protect humanity from the aliens, gods and monsters lurking in the shadows...
"And I was taken up like a cloud, and passed into the east where the sun rises. And there it was said to me, behold. And I did, and saw the watery pillars that bind the Third Beast of Perdition. And it is named Cathooloo."
