THE MISSION: Bring back a holiday Blues tradition to Austin!
Edit: Thank you to all the contributors so far. We have reached our minimum goal!
The more we raise, the more the players get paid.
This is what makes this project different from other albums for charity. These players are constantly asked to donate their time - and, if the cause is good, they almost always do. They give and give to their community because that's the kind of people they are.
Contribute now and give back to the performers for the joy they've brought to our lives and for literally building The Live Music Capital of the World.
A funny thing happens when pro musicians are getting compensated. The work is even better!

My name is Pete Monfre. At 18 years of age, I moved to Austin, Texas and stumbled into the hottest blues scene in the world.
Stevie Ray Vaughn was just breaking huge and Clifford Antone was graciously hosting blues legends like Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, James Cotton and so many others. It was an amazing time to be in Austin.
In 1985, Austin's blues legends got together and made "An Austin Rhythm and Blues Christmas", a heartfelt project that featured The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Willie Nelson, Mark "Kaz" Kazanoff, Denny Freeman, Charlie Sexton, Angela Strehli, LouAnn Barton and the late, great Paul Ray.
32 years later, we need your help to make a new Texas classic.

Risks and challenges
A project like this comes with many challenges from funding to logistics and managing so many artists (and their touring schedules).
By far, the biggest challenge besides raising money (we really need to get to $10K), is handling the logistics of the various touring schedules of the artists. That's why we are starting production now - recording sessions will happen April-August. Our production team is very experienced in producing albums and managing logistics.
We will be doing two Kickstarter campaigns - one to get the album recorded and another to mix and master the recordings. We are also seeking corporate sponsorship to further cover production costs.
Some of the rewards will be available shortly after the campaign ends. (Like stickers and T-shirts)
As executive producer, I've been producing media for some of the most successful brands in the world for almost 30 years with clients ranging from Harley Davidson and Rockwell to Abbott Laboratories and Kimberley Clark. I've run multimillion dollar agencies and performed with Grammy Award winning blues artists. I know how to get things done and manage the process and finances.
Co Executive Producer and founder of BuildSong, Mark is a studio engineer and longtime bassist for Johnny Winter. He has also produced work for Virgin, Orion Pictures, HBO and the History Channel and performed with Willie Nelson, Taj Mahal, Dr. John, Joe Bonamassa and many more.
