Stretch Target! More help & props ready for August!

Hi everyone....I am virtually speechless...but the museum Kickstarter target of £5,000 has been met thanks to the support of you. THANK YOU! Clearly...this has happened early in the campaign. The £5,000 figure was pretty much a 'materials only' estimate, enabling myself to recommence building work (with occasional support from my step-father-law Chris, and ex-pupil and now family friend Jethro!). If we could raise even another £1,000, this would enable me to pay some local builders to help out with this work. In terms of the museum, extra donations will enable the following:

-  More props and costumes to be repaired/restored and displayed ready for opening. Each prop or costume requires careful attention. I build a bespoke display from wood for each item and then research and design an information plaque to go with it. Most items require some repair- again this takes me time (in some cases like 'Doctor Who' monsters, this can include re-sculpting entire missing sections of the prop). I need to purchase a mannequin for each costume (or part costume) and then customise for the requirements of each item...this all costs!

Example of prop restoration: 'The Garm' from 'Doctor Who' (1983)- a slow and painstaking process of restoring original costume and prop pieces back to health ready for display!

- Framing: The museum will be including a substantive collection of original published science-fiction/Doctor Who paintings and drawings by artist Andrew Skilleter...and myself!  In the Marvel section, there is to be a vibrant collection of original, screen-used animation cels from several Marvel animated series. All these items need framing: extra money pledged will enable more of these vivid images to be professionally framed in time for August!

Beautiful, original published paintings by artist/illustrator Andrew Skilleter- to be framed and displayed in the museum.

So...in short- extra donations will enable me to focus more of the remaining time before opening to the actual creation of prop displays and restorative work. Help me make the museum the very best it can be!  Once again- thank you so much for all the support!

Brilliant stuff Neil and well deserved. This is only a little bit of the backing you’ve got. I’m sure loads more folk want to get on board!
