Thanks for dropping in...
We are BeastWares! Pleased to meet you. We're a small clothing company from San Francisco that firmly believes that clothes should be fun and that one should never takes one's self too seriously, don'cha know.
We're here to tell you that we're out to rock the world with stretchy, shiny, SPARKLY PANTS!
… and they shall be called “Glitter Britches”!
We intend these pants to be versatile and multi-functional. Comfortable as pajamas, yet they make you look like a rock star. Rocker jammies, if you will. These pants are made for having fun, kicking butt, and looking awesome while doing it. We're aiming for the most perfect pair of stretch-pants possible. Here’s a few features of our design:
-Low-rise and high-rump for comfort, style and bum-security.
-Extra long inseam and a mild boot cut. It's like leggings met boot-cut jeans and had a passionate love affair. Our pants can be tucked into boots and worn as tights or pulled down over your shoes to make your legs look about a nautical mile long.
-Reinforced crotch and bum seams to allow for unhindered Can-Canning and Chuck Norris style butt-kicking.
-4 way stretch spandex—no saggy bums!
Beating up bad guys
Eating ice cream with extra sprinkles.
Generally being AWESOME.
WE NEED YOU!
We need help making our first run of Glitter Britches a reality. We want to release and initial run of 100 pieces, including 5 colorways and sizes small through extra-large. We've been making samples galore, but the final colors and fabrics for the first collection are still to be decided... see the REWARDS for more on that! Will they be gold? Lime green? Black crackle? It could be up to you!
We firmly believe in keeping things local. Everything we make is handmade by us or our one dedicated contract sewer. As we grow, we plan to either hire more contractors, or if need be, a sew-house, but we will always keep it close to home. We're a little socially opinionated, but mostly we're just control freaks.
All funds will go towards this cause. We’ll be paying for:
-Raw (sparkly) materials
-Cake to fuel ourselves during our late-night sewing sessions. We're powered by cake.
We’re very excited about these pants and we hope you are, too. Please help us out by participating financially, and also by being our Glitterati. Tweet us, blog us, pin us, spread the word and help make the world a more sparkly place. Visit our website, facebook page and blog for more stuff and nonsense.
Thanks! We love you!
UPDATE! I've been asked to make a video with ME in it, for, um, personal effect and so you know I'm not a robot trying to take over the world with the proliferation of shiny things. I tried, but IMovie crashed and all the footage was really awkward anyway.. turns out I say "um" a lot when on camera. Anyway, lacking the technology and charisma to produce the video I wanted to, I give you a video of me dancing to the badger song. I'm sorry it has nothing to do with pants, but at least you know I'm not a robot.
Oh no, itchy britches! No, they are made of a mid-weight spandex that is smooth as a wetsuit on the inside. Smoother. Smooth as Sean Connery. If you are remembering with horror those metallic-sparkly panty-hose of yore... me too, those were awful. These are awesome. None of that.
In addition, we've designed them with only one seam per leg, for as much uninterrupted expanse of sparkle spandex glory as possible.
The waist is elastic and they are pull-on. The elastic is sewn to the hem and then folded down to make the waist-line, so it lies smooth when the britches are on, not wrinkly like elastic in a casing. No old-lady pants. No belt loops. I wear belts with them sometimes for looks, anyway, but usually in a slouchy rocker way. They don't NEED a belt. I put a picture up on the blog for you to see if you're so inclined. Here: http://beastwares.tumblr.com/
The waist is also cut higher in the back than the front, which helps a lot with feeling secure in your pantaloons. These are not saggy britches (Unless you get them too big. Don't do that. They're VERY stretchy)
