About this project
My last project, “Reformation Last Ninja 2 C64 Remakes” was a huge success. It featured remakes of my own music, but a stretch-goal bonus disk also remade iconic Commodore 64 classics such as Knucklebusters, W.A.R, Arcade Classics, Phantoms Of The Asteroid & Sanxion (Thalamusik) by Rob Hubbard, and Arkanoid, Rambo First Blood Part 2 & Green Beret by Martin Galway.
The response to these SID remakes was so good, I will be using the same patented “Reformation” approach to blow up more 8 bit music classics into stunning pieces of ear candy for a follow-up double album. I will also be remaking some other games soundtracks I composed on the C64 and even featuring something from the NES!
If you watch the project video for this page you can hear some of the transformations made from pure SID to full blown production.
And below is just one of the 50+ remakes featured on the original Reformation album.
By casting my eye across the C64 SID landscape beyond my own catalogue I can bring new sonic life to a greater range of classic soundtracks.
Confirmed tracks for this new album are such SID classics as
- Comic Bakery
- One Man & His Droid
- Ocean Loader 1
- Green Beret Loader
- Monty On The Run
- Flash Gordon
- Nemesis The Warlock
- Holiday Morning
- International Karate
- Autumn Breeze
- The Great Giana Sisters Loading Theme
- Master Of Magic
- PLUS 3 Remaining Personal Choice Selections
As I progress through the album's production I will confirm further Personal Choice selections and/or tracks I select in the absence of any remaining Personal Choice pledges.
See the stretch goals below for news on potential additional remakes.
All of the cover versions for this album will be properly licensed so that the original composers will receive their fair share of royalties.
For those backers that want to hold a physical product in their hand there are options to have a double CD and/or a double disc vinyl album. The CD will be restricted in numbers though so be quick to reserve your copy.
**Early Bird Vinyl Option**
The first 150 Vinyl + Download Backers can save £5 by pledging for this reward.
There are a limited number of rewards whereby you the backer can select a C64 games track for me to to remake and include on the album. So if your personal favourite is not on my hit list then you can pledge to have it added.
Two backers can pledge to have their very own original track written & produced by myself for any project you care to use it in. It will be composed based on your own specification and delivered direct to you for use.
Now this project is funded there are several stretch goals that will benefit all backers.

Risks and challenges
Having now completed music production & digital delivery of my first Kickstarter project Reformation Last Ninja 2 C64 Remakes I have an excellent knowledge of the risks & challenges one can expect during the whole process. That first project took longer than originally expected mainly due to a rather ambitious estimate on the time required to produce the many extra tracks triggered by the stretch goals. The key lesson was keep everyone informed, which I undoubtedly did. The end result which was over 50 tracks of C64 remakes have been made available initially via digital download with the physical CDs & Vinyl on their way to manufacturing ready for postal delivery shortly afterwards.
In fact the response to the first project has been universally amazing. I've received countless kind messages of praise and appreciation from so many happy backers of that project.
This is smaller scale project and one which will feature less physical rewards. For example the only CD copies available will be for higher reward tiers. This will reduce costs such as manufacturing & postal expenses, the latter of which are hard to estimate for so many regions across the globe.
Given all of these points I estimate that it will take between 11 - 13 months to complete a 20 - 25 track album & deliver digitals with a further 1-3 months for CD production & any Vinyl rewards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
