Help us launch Rooster & Owl!
We want to launch a pop up restaurant, but we need you! Yuan Tang conceptualized Rooster & Owl to develop inventive, contemporary American cuisine in a fun, collaborative environment: think tapas, or small plates, meets fine dining.
What's different about Rooster & Owl?
Every course is fully composed and designed to be shared and experienced as a table. Unlike tradition tapas formats, dishes are coursed to provide a light to heavy progression, and unlike tradition prix fixe menus, diners can customize their meal to accommodate any dietary restrictions, preferences, or inclinations. Combined, guests enjoy the thrill and precision of a chef-driven, fine dining menu with the atmosphere, customization, and adventure of a small plate format.
Dining out is more than just a meal: it's a shared experience, and that's exactly what Rooster & Owl brings to the table.
What's a pop up?
A pop up is a temporary restaurant, serving a limited menu to give diners a sample of the Rooster & Owl experience. One ticket to our Rooster & Owl pop up gets you a 4-course meal, including dessert crafted by Corey Jamison (formerly of Gramercy Tavern, 701 Restaurant, & Fiola). You can also choose to upgrade your support to get a ticket with beverage pairing, which includes 4 different beverages carefully selected by our culinary team to accompany your meal.
Vegetarians are welcome, and most other dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance warning. Have any questions about dietary restrictions or allergies? Email us at email@example.com!
When & Where?
February 4-6, 2016 at EatsPlace!
The Rooster & Owl pop up will be held for 3 nights only at the following seating times: Thursday, February 4th at 7:00, Friday, February 5th at 6:00 & 8:30, and Saturday, February 6th at 6:00 & 8:30. Reservations are required, so make sure you provide your contact information or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your table! (Could be a pretty good early Valentine's dinner idea, right?)
The Georgia Ave Petworth (Green/Yellow) metro station is 3 blocks away and free and metered street parking is also available. If you have any questions about scheduling, dietary restrictions, transportation, or any other event details, ask away at email@example.com.
After 10 years of fine dining experience in New York City and DC, Yuan Tang will be leading the culinary team. Previously, Tang worked at three-Michelin-star Jean George and one-Michelin-star The Modern and was the sous chef at one-Michelin-star Dovetail in New York City. After relocating to DC, he was the executive sous chef at 701 Restaurant and Rogue 24.
The restaurant industry is competitive, intense, and challenging. But it's truly a labor of love. We need you to help us premier this concept in the DC area and attract buzz--and hopefully investors--to help make our dream of Rooster & Owl a reality. Plus, you can get a great meal in the process.

Risks and challenges
Restaurants are one of the riskiest endeavors, but this pop up will help us introduce and refine our concept, a key to ensuring our success. We hope that this inaugural pop up will fuel a series of Rooster & Owl pop ups, gathering capital, momentum, and, hopefully, hungry crowds.
All our investors will be listed at VIPs when Rooster & Owl opens full-time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
