About this project
Two girls travel the Southest!
This project will culminate with an informational ebook on Family-Friendly Teardrop Camping, but not your average, run-of-the-mill dry "how-to!" No; I will permeate this ebook with humorous recollections of our adventures as we teach you the joys of camping with a teardrop. A teardrop trailer is a tiny camper that can be pulled by nearly any type of motor vehicle; it's very small and lightweight. RV camping is a great way to get out and see the world! And what better way for a single mom and her young daughter to do this than with a small trailer they can manage themselves?!
The funds I raise will be used to purchase a reliable used teardrop trailer (we're tired of tent camping and ready to move up), camping fees at the parks I visit, park membership, contributor rewards, and costs associated with the creation and publication of the ebook.
Our travels will be in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia during the summer of 2012. We'll take lots of pictures and document each park we visit. I'll rank each park on family-friendly standards such as safety, cleanliness, shade trees, bathrooms with showers, recreational activities, wifi access, affordability, hook-ups, pets allowed, etc.
This project will enhance my daughter's emotional and social development as she experiences the joy of meeting new people and visiting new places. I'll include these experiences in our book. Additionally, I'm a teacher who loves to infuse my required district-mandated curriculum with relevant life experiences, using them as a springboard for a multitude of lessons and projects throughout the year; this project will build my bank of personal experiences that will indirectly enhance my students' educational experience!
