Since we became a band, we've had two goals: To make music and grow as musicians. As we begin our second year together, we've come a long way toward both.
Like our name implies, we care about the company we keep. The best part about that? You like us as we come. Acoustic, amplified, raw, polished—it doesn't really matter, as long as we're creating music for you to enjoy.
In order to share our slice of Tennessee with an even bigger circle, we have decided to record a full-length album of original material.
"Hills," named for the title track, is about celebrating the place we call home. Though we get pulled away, we always find ourselves coming back to the familiar mountains and valleys that define this great state.
The recording process is a unique and fun challenge, one that's totally different from a live performance. It gives us the luxury of refining our sound, without the unpredictability of new venues. We plan to use a studio in East Tennessee, with sound engineers who are familiar with the demands of an acoustic string band. We believe this will help us remain true to the character of our music, which you have come to know and love.
We thank you so much for believing in us. This is just the beginning of something big, and we can't wait to share our success with you.
Risks and challenges
There are risks with any project. We have worked to alleviate potential challenges by planning our fundraising efforts, album format, recording logistics, and post-production distribution. But honestly, this is a new endeavor for us.
Essentially, "Hills" is just as much an investment for us as it is for you. If you believe in our music, brand, and project, we hope you will help us reach our goal and see (and hear) "Hills" come to life.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
