I'm directing a short comedic film titled "First Kiss," which follows a guy and a girl as they encounter all sorts of obstacles while trying for their first kiss. We're shooting in LA on February 19th. I have a lead actor (Joe Mazzello of HBO's "The Pacific") and a lead actress (Brenda Song of David Fincher's "The Social Network") and I will be auditioning people for the other roles in the coming weeks. I've already lined up all of my primary crew members (including our editor Grant Surmi, who just edited Errol Morris's upcoming film "Tabloid") and now I just need to raise some money to make this project a reality. There are a lot of equipment rentals (we're shooting with the RED camera, which was used to shoot "The Social Network" and "District 9"), location permits, and other costs that will go into making this the best movie possible.
My goal is to make a hilarious film that has really high production value and will play at film festivals around the country, but it's difficult as a young filmmaker because I have to fund everything out of my own pocket. That's why I decided to use Kickstarter. Your contributions are going to make it possible! Any amount is much appreciated! Even putting in $10 or less helps us a lot because the more backers we get, the better chance we have for Kickstarter to highlight our project on their main page.
