DJBennett.com is seeking a $500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Dollars and zero cents) capital raise through Kickstarter.
The initial capital raise of $500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Dollars and zero cents) will be used for further inventory/product build out to meet the U.S. and China consumer demand. This funding will also provide for marketing, technical support and development of the DJBennett Private Label. An additional revenue stream will be created by in-studio photo shoots. The Company revenues are projected to be over $100 million in 6 years with a gross profit margin potential of over 90%.
So, what do we need the capital for?
1. Merchandise: Our year 2 growth caught us by surprise with our monthly sales increase doubling immediately following our Amazon.com launch and Rakuten.com launch which also increased our sales and traffic on DJ Bennett .com.
This sales increase in year 2, coupled with beginning our business relationship with Alibaba, in China, has reduced our inventory to a level at which we are missing valuable Japanese, Chinese and American sales/revenue.
2. Systems Upgrades: We need to upgrade to a high performance scalable ecommerce which will include any/all new plug-ins/modules for Amazon, email marketing, SM, and perhaps most importantly inventory/PO management system.
So, how are we going to pull this off?

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is behind us. We used the first two years as an internet retailer based in the U.S.A. to expand, access customers and receive licensing to effect business not only in the United States but also in Japan and China. Now, our challenge is to build out our inventory to service the 305 million American consumers and 1.3 billion Chinese consumers as well as approximately 130 million Japanese consumers.
Here is why we are qualified to overcome the risks and challenges;
DJBennett.com’s Prior Business Success:
Reduced our operating expenses by +70% in year’s 2 & 3 of operation.
First full comp of year #2 we increased our sales by 70% and reduced our inventory by 30% over first full comp of year #1.
Since being invited and launching on Amazon in Oct of 2013, we have received nearly 8,000 orders from our Amazon storefront.
We have built our client e-mail list up to nearly 80,000 active subscriber’s.
Our Lifetime Average Order Value is an impressive $145.69
Our Weekly Unique Visitor’s to DJBennett.com have grown to a current average of 7,000 per week.
DJBennett.com’s business model is a multi-platform e-commerce sales model where we offer our entire assortment of apparel, accessories and gear across multiple platforms including highly trafficked third-party platforms such as Amazon, Rakuten and Taobao. Moreover, roughly 50% of our sales currently come from these third party platforms.
Most recently, China has become a major focus for our sales and distribution model. We believe that we are set up for success and will soon be able to take advantage of this rapidly growing market.
What has DJBennett’s Technology already accomplished:
Many of these accomplishments have been mentioned above. However, to summarize:
We have received over 13,000 orders generating over $3.0m in revenue in 28 short months.
Our first full year we had a 75% increase in sales and did so with 30% less average inventory
We received nearly 8,000 orders on Amazon since we launched 14 months ago.
We have built our active client list to nearly 80,000 active subscribers since our inception 28 months ago.
We have reduced our operating expenses by 70% from our initial launch year as well as improved the quality and operating efficiency of the DJB-Team (in doing so we have brought “in-house” those functions that were previously very costly, as well as replaced key outside service providers who were earlier over-charging and under-performing.)
We have incorporated and set up a fully functioning company/operation in China. DJ Bennett is taking advantage of the rapidly growing Chinese e-commerce market.
DJBennett’s Adventure Journal:
If you’re a dedicated powder hound–since you’re reading this post, let’s assume that’s the case–you’re probably dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones… that allow you to hit well-groomed pistes and undisturbed backcountry at will. You’re also probably dreaming of far-flung destinations perfect for a late-winter/early spring ski trip–and that’s where we come in.
Here are DJBENNETT‘s picks for three must-hit ski spots this season.
Why It Dominates: With three amazing ski zones, including the awe-inspiring, heavens-reaching Matterhorn, this is undeniably one of the most epic ski destinations on the planet. Located in the Alps on the border of Italy, Zermatt features vertical drops of more than 7,000 feet, 360 pistes that vary in intensity from scenic cruisers to exhausting mogul runs (like the famed Triftji), and a “Gravity Park” that will make snowboarders’ heads spin. While temps can run low in the dead of winter (it sometimes doesn’t crack 5 degrees!), they should warm up nicely by spring.
Val Thorens, France
Why It Dominates: For starters, Val Thorens was named World’s Best Ski Resort at the inaugural World Ski Awards in November. It’s also the highest ski resort in Europe, and the largest ski area in the world–boasting more than 600 km (that’s 372 miles!) of well-groomed runs, 99 percent of which are situated above 2,000 meters, that accommodate skiers and boarders from the neophyte to the expert. Located at the highest point of the 3 Vallees in the French Alps, skiers are treated to jaw-dropping views of 100+ Alpine summits in France, Switzerland and Italy, and–thanks to the altitude–the ski season lasts until May 11!
Alyeska Resort in Girwood, Alaska
Why It Dominates: Located 40 miles outside of Anchorage (and its international airport), Girwood is easily accessible to the globetrotting traveler but still exudes a small-town vibe that revolves completely around skiing and snowboarding. The largest resort in Alaska, Alyeska boasts a bounty of runs for skiers and boarders of every experience level, but the mountain’s wide-open upper half–which resembles the tree-free terrain of the Alps–favors the more advanced. Added bonus: Because this is Alaska, you won’t be fighting crowds like you might at most continental U.S. resorts.
