STATUS: We currently have an early alpha build that demonstrates our ground breaking concept for Bionic Fighters. Our team is passionately designing this game from the ground up as a limited next-gen release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with high quality graphics and an innovative multiplayer feature. The game is already in full production with development to begin going Full-time after the Kickstarter funding period ends! We have chosen to complete Bionic Fighters within 12 months for the Steam and OUYA version.
Bionic Fighters takes hand-to-hand fighting to new extremes with 10* powerful characters and 11 stages. The ability to fight with a friend brings team duos to a new level of realism in this high octane thrill ride of fists. We have a diverse roster for Bionic Fighters, which includes: the diabolical Panzer, the heroic Hali, Titus the battle hardened swordsman, Project Gert's Gertrude, and a seductive Kung fu master Rin. We will continue revealing more indie partnership characters as the Kickstarter campaign progresses. The game is to be built with online matches in mind and offers multiple unique game modes. One game mode will use the traditional stock "life" model, while the other called "Digital Fighter" will consist of a race against time to gather the most points by attacking opponents. The combat is constantly lightning fast with gameplay devices, such as randomly dropped items, that spawn throughout the battle to mix up the playing field.
* 10 characters will be available in the initial Kickstarter Goal amount for Bionic Fighters. With additional stretch goals unlocked, and high reward backers we are expecting the roster to amount to 15 - 20 fighters.
The game is striving for a highly stylized look, and will play very similar to most traditional platform fighters like Super Smash Bros. As you can see from the complex images below, our Steam Clock, Imperium City, and Jungle of Chaos stages convey our strong aesthetic vision that will provide a unique style of play. Be on the lookout for future stage unveils in the forthcoming updates!
The game comes packed with diverse stages and characters and the varying locations will ensure that each fight offers new and fresh gameplay. The jungle-themed stage below showcases just one of the lush and interactive stages that will be found in-game.
The single-player campaign will train you to play the game proficiently with friends online or locally. Within the campaign mode, players will battle each game character one-on-one, building up to a climactic fight with an earth shattering boss fight. This teaches the player each character's individual fighting style. The single player portion is intended to provide an engaging addition from the frenetic multiplayer portion of your title.
Throughout the campaign mode, you will encounter challenging adversaries that will work ceaselessly to halt your progress. You will fight different combatants on distinctive stages taken straight from their original "gaming universe" that each iconic indie character appears in. While playing through the Campaign mode you will acquire hidden single-player Trophies and unlock character specific stages after beating the game!
Wait, there is more! Imagination Vent is also planning an in-depth training mode to help the player train and master the fighting styles of each character. In the training mode, you will learn each fighter's moves frame by frame, and prepare your skills for the breath of multiplayer modes available to take part in.
Multiplayer allows up to 4 players to compete online or locally. Bionic Fighters multiplayer modes offer nearly endless replay value with unlockable skins, Trophies, and new stages. We are putting our best into this title by offering robust multiplayer modes, distinctive characters to choose between, and tight & engaging gameplay that will hook you in each fight! Additional content will be released regularly post launch with FREE new stages, characters, and entirely new game modes. We are committed to continuously making your gaming experience fresh, with new challenges every time you play.
The stock life mode can be played with up to a 4 player versus setting or in a team battle setting with 2v2. In this mode, you battle against the other combatants as they ceaselessly: punch, kick, throw items, or utilize their Bionic Smash attacks to knock you off the stage. It's a thrilling experience that is best enjoyed in a party or group setting!
- Play Style: Overall, Titus is a very fast character with good disjointed reach, along with great offensive and defensive options who has potential power to severely damage opponents.
- Play Style: Gertrude is suspended somewhere between a light and medium hitter in terms of knockback, but as an in-close brawler she excels.
- Play Style: Rin is one of the fastest characters in the game, and has a great distance for her DACUS that can be used for killing. Rin has a fairly strong air-game that really only lacks in one area: versatility.
- Play Style: Hali has a wide array of both projectiles and physical attacks, which can be used in violent combinations. A tricky combatant when moving from air to ground fighting.
- Play Style: Panzer is a heavy character with great momentum canceling, especially vertically due his very quick fast falling speed. His power, range, and weight are critical to his survival against other combatants.
- Play Style: Christina is a heavy fighter with a somewhat fast fall speed. Most of Christina's standard attacks start quickly and have great reach, and she has a DACUS that propels her a considerable distance along the ground. Many of her attacks have the potential to Knock Out, such as her Back Aerial, Up Tilt, and Bionic Smash.
- Play Style: Spade's wide array of fast attacks and speed make him a formidable opponent. He can manipulate playing cards and toss them at enemies for violent results.
As with most platform fighters, it's a necessity to have awesome items and weapons! Items that fall from the air and bounce onto the stage, can either take the form of offensive/defensive weapons or character powerups. We'll ensure that the weapons are properly tailored to this style of fighting game, along with offering the option to turn them on or off during gameplay. Some of our items are shown below:
As shown in the video, the development team is working around-the-clock to turn Bionic Fighters into a video game worthy of your pledge. $125,000: Expansive New Content!
Once we pass this goal, 1) we will design a brand new multiplayer game mode that allows players to participate in an Elimination style game mode! Where, we'll set a timer and after every minute of gameplay it ignites a fuse, and while the fuse is lit the first combatant knocked off the stage will permanently be eliminated and re-set the clock timer. Now it's time to gang up on the advanced player, because they are going down! Plus! 2) we will design the single-player campaign to provide two separate endings based upon your fighting success during the campaign mode! Having surpassed our funding goal allows us to expand our team, purchase much-needed equipment, and allow us to increase productivity in general. These stretch goals are our way of thanking everyone for helping to fund our game.
Imagination Vent will add free updates to the game that will ensure the online community continually grows. Having employees who already developed games for both PS3 and Windows prior, our development team is ready to make this new party-style fighting game a success! It is with profound excitement that our team came together to bring YOU one of the most engaging multiplayer fighting experiences to date. Jason the Art Director on the project graduated with 2 Bachelor Degrees in interactive media, and has a successful track record of designing next-gen polygon intensive characters and environments to ensure Bionic Fighters graphics impress all on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. Our team has a varied past with all varying skill sets in the interactive entertainment business namely our Lead Animator Noel Santa Cruz who previous worked on many overseas production(s) such as: X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Animaniacs. Just imagine our entire roster of combatants animated in the same pristine fashion as they are in the video below!
Our intention is that by promoting this project on Kickstarter, we will reach a wider audience, enabling our development team to make Bionic Fighters the best it can be. The world of Bionic Fighters is vast and presents a variety of iconic story segments with each unique personality being displayed in the single-player Campaign. We currently have several production models for characters, and are determined to make Bionic Fighters the staple title on the PlayStation 4 Entertainment console. This is the reason we need your support for this revolutionary title. Imagination Vent is planning on having a booth at PAX West 2014, and we need your support to make sure Bionic Fighters gets into gamers hands! Our team will also need to purchase multiple dedicated servers for this game to support its large online user base.
With the expectations set upon us to deliver an engaging, and highly addictive fighting game we require professional resources in order to assure quality throughout the entire product. Paying for full time programmers is a big expenditure that we can only cover with the support of our fan base. Our team is looking to hire additional team members for network programming and cover the costs correlated to employing an experienced animator and 3D graphic artist. These additions to the team will cause both our company size and costs to double. To ensure this game adheres to the highest expectations set upon us by the community, we need your pledge. Fighting games are expansive undertakings. When creating a video game, you have a large number of moving parts that need to be intricately linked together to showcase the initial idea you had in mind. Games are rousing experiences that, when properly presented, spawn unforgettable interactive experiences for those who play them. Our studio is keeping in mind the scale, time, and past industry experience, of our team, to ensure that Bionic Fighters can easily be customized in respect to the direction of our community.
As an independent game development studio, Imagination Vent believes all obstacles can be overcome with hard work and persistence. Our team is prepared and has the experience to deliver a polished product to backers in the specified time-frame.
We have chosen to release the game for the PlayStation 4, Steam, Xbox One, and OUYA console due to their potential they represent in the gaming market. Working with Sony under their self-publishing label we are now easily able to update the game on a more timely basis. The challenge involved with our project is that in order to provide the addictive combat correlated to platform fighters, licensing costly popular Indie characters, and seamless multiplayer we need to smash our Kickstarter goal and aim for the Stretch Goals! We strongly desire to collaborate with our community to make Bionic Fighters unique and awe inspiring.
