Update & Project Refund
I apologize for the length of time it has taken me to update you all on this project. I should not have kept you waiting so long, I am truly sorry for that. Unfortunately, I am unable to complete this project. However, I am going to be refunding each backer the FULL AMOUNT of their pledge (the plan to issue refunds is below).
It has been a difficult decision to move in this direction and cancel the project, but there have been many significant changes in my life circumstances and I realize that the best course of action is to refund everyone’s money. It has been a labor of love to work on BANE. The support my partner and I received along the way has been humbling and we cannot express our appreciation enough. Thank you all.
The Refund Plan
On December 1st, 2018 - I will start sending emails to confirm:
- That the backer wants a refund
- The name of the recipient of the refund
- The amount of the refund
- Current address
Since there is no automated way to issue refunds, I have to manually manage the process. My emails – and your responses – will help me stay organized and ensure accuracy. Everyone deserves their refund, but I'm only one person. My approach will be to work through the backer list in groups of 40-50 at a time, starting with the backers who pledged the highest amounts first. So, it will take me a little bit of time to get to everyone. As each confirmation is complete, that backer will receive a refund check.
Even though funds have been spent on things like Kickstarter fees, illustration, graphic design, manufacturing prep, promotions and the like, each backer will receive 100% of their pledge amount. You pledged your support and placed your trust in this project. It’s only fair that I honor that and give you your money back.
International backers: I will be working with each of you individually to find the most efficient way to get your refund to you.
As this refund process moves along I will work to be available to answer any questions you may have.
