It's your friend Theo, that dude from Manhasset, New York, who moved away to study drums at the University of Michigan, picked up the bass along the way, and then became a full-time touring guitarist with the band My Dear Disco.
About a year ago, I took a leap of faith and ventured out into the unknown world of performing my own music.
After just a few months of playing shows with my new band, Theo Katzman and Love Massive, that leap of faith started to pay off. I attracted the attention of a manager and booking agent, and I now have the infrastructure I need to help get my career off the ground. In fact, I was just booked at the prestigious Ann Arbor Folk Festival (along with The Avett Brothers, Citizen Cope, Mavis Staples). Legendary artists! The ball is rolling indeed!!
The one thing I'm missing, however, is a FULL ALBUM of my music. I have a large catalog of songs (like the song “Brooklyn,” for example) and I'd love to share them with you!
Up until this point I've financed my performance career by myself, as a working musician and music educator. Now, thanks to Kickstarter, I'm able to invite YOU (my fans, friends, family) to help me make this music!
To the right of this page, you can pledge to donate however much you wish to the production of the album. And here's the cool part: if you donate at any of the specified levels, you'll receive great stuff in return (music, t-shirts, posters, private music lessons, etc). Very cool!
The money raised from this Kickstarter campaign will go towards buying time in a professional recording studio, paying other musicians for their amazing talent and hard work, mixing and mastering the album, printing, pressing, and packaging the album, and then sending it to YOU before it's available to ANYONE ELSE!
Thanks for helping me make this album! I'm confident that YOU WILL DIG IT!!
