Dear backers,

Thanks to you our project is currently funded for more than 200% and is sold out of all earlybird specials! We are well underway to reach our next stretch goal of €22.500 - which will unlock 6 additional colors. We are already excited for the next round of voting :)

It has been a while since our last update - so let's get right to it.

Frame for smaller build plates

Number one request over the past weeks: is to be able to print the headphone on 3D printers with a smaller - or a rectangular shaped build plate. We have come up with a proof of concept for a frame out of 3 parts that can be pieced together by sliding it into each other and takes up far less space on the build plate. Still no glue or screws are involved - the parts stay together based on friction.

3D files available for all backers in December

Many request came in from backers for one or more print+ kits - on how to pledge an extra €5 for getting early access to the 3D files. At the same time many other backers also asked to get access without having to pledge the extra €5. We are happy to announce that we are going to do just that: make the 3D files available to all backers in December without the need to pledge the additional €5!

So to everyone who already pledged for one or more headphone kits and added the extra €5: you can reduce your pledge with €5 to the amount of your original reward + shipping.

The 3D files will be released in December as beta files, as your feedback will probably prompt us to do more improvements after the initial release of the 3D files.

Print+ on WeTransfer

Our print+ Kickstarter project photo has been on rotation on WeTransfer for the past two weeks and will be until the end of the Kickstarter campaign. We are grateful to the WeTransfer team for making this possible and supporting print+. Haven't seen it? Check it out here

Guestblog on Ultimaker

Ultimaker asked us to write a little piece on print+ and how we utilised the Ultimaker 3D printers during the process. Read our guest blog on Ultimaker.com

We were happily surprised to be featured in a post on Design Milk

Uprise Festival in Amsterdam

3D Hubs invited us in their booth at Uprise Festival in Amsterdam

3D Hubs’ Telma & Rogerio and print+’s Alex were enjoying the silent disco

Marvin was enjoying some tunes as well :)

It was great to see people interact with our headphones, let people listen to them and to receive feedback on the headphones - reactions were overwhelmingly positive!

TCT show in Birmingham

Last week Colorfabb had the print+ headphones on display during the TCT printshow in Birmingham, UK. It was great to have people try out the headphones in the UK too. The Colorfabb folks even came back with more headphones then they left with - they printed and assembled a new headphone during the show!

Store display concept development

We have started concept development on modular store displays which will enable 3D print retailers to display the line of print+ products to their customers. Print+ will work together with the backers for the larger rewards in designing the store displays.

Brochure

We are currently getting in touch with (3D print) retailers and for this purpose we put together a brochure. If you would like to receive a brochure, please send an email to hello [at] print.plus and we will be in touch!

For the past weeks we have been test printing with a new type of Colorfabb filament. It comes straight out of the Colorfabb lab and isn't on the market yet. We are blown away by the results. It is super flexible - yet it returns back to its original printed shape very well.

That's it for now - we hope you enjoyed it,

Nikka, Alex and Patrick
