Being a comedian is kind of tricky: your jokes have to appeal to a wide variety of people in order to make a living. I'm a geek, and that means that my geek-centric humor is wasted on most audiences. But not on other geeks, and they're who this album is for.
There are geek musicians and geek comedians, but I don't know of anyone else prepared to bring a show packed with both stand-up comedy and geeky comedy music. The money raised for this project will go toward recording, mixing, mastering, and physically pressing an album of just such material. Anything over the initial amount will be used to advertise, distribute, and further promote the album.
I had a sort of hit with the song (and video) "She Don't Like Firefly." That song will be included on this album, along with at least 9 other tracks in a similar vein.
My fellow geeks, we can rock this out. Alone we are drops of water, but together we are a whole bunch of geeks and stuff!
Song demos already recorded for the album include: She Don't Like Firefly, Smells Like Team Justice (parody of Nirvana), If I Had A Mutant Power (parody of Barenaked Ladies), Me And Alan Moore's Beard, Kobolds Ate My Baby, and Too Fat To Troop.
Songs/bits/and sketches currently in development include, but are not limited to: Fiend Folio, Retcon Blues, Fanfiction Blues, In-Game Girlfriend, Zombie Ex-Girlfriend, Impotent Nerd Rage, She's From Canada, The Spoiler Song, Grammar Nazi, That Guy, Dark Lord of Denny's, and Dresden: Wizard For Hire (among many other bits and scraps...)
