About

Have you played a really good first person shooter (FPS) game, but felt you are limited in its possibilities to act? Have you played a really good real time strategy (RTS) game, but noticed your view is too far from the real action? Have you ever wanted to combine these genres but in a simple and controllable way?
And maybe not just combine, but to switch between them at will, and take your experience to a different level, taking command of entire armies?
Well, now imagine you can, in an Role Playing Game (RPG) platform where you control every aspect of your world, follow the main story or create your own, embark special quests, craft items, level up your characters, interact with anyone and anything in Ellaria’s endless realm.

CivCraft - Legends of Ellaria is a full FPS Sandbox game with special features from RTS & RPG game genres to extend the gaming experience, That gives you maximum control over your kingdom. However, CivCraft is a lot more than just different game genres combined. CivCraft allows you to chose how you want to play and how to accomplish your missions; whether to attack in first person or with an army.
CivCraft is a fantasy first person RPG, where you customize your own character, but in CivCraft, you are the king and control an entire kingdom making an exodus into a new and dangerous realm. Your task is to rebuild your kingdom and fight your enemies. You can build cities, engage in epic battles or explore the mystical land by yourself. The 5 Clans

You are the rightful king of one of the 5 clans, and as the king, your task is to bring your kingdom back to glory by building, expanding, fighting and exploring in the new world of Ellaria. Your task will not be easy, as the other clans has opened their own portals, and are searching for the same thing you are looking for - The Rift Stone. This stone is the source of all magic which is the base of any kingdom’s power. But as you go deeper into Ellaria, you'll find that the ancients have left much more powerful artifacts than you can imagine.
Rifts

The word “rifts” refers to other worlds that exists beyond our world. Throughout Ellaria, you may find portals in ancient ruins, connecting you to other worlds filled with vast complexes of ruins, cities, artifacts and knowledge. It’s unknown how many rifts exist, but it is known that many of them are best left undiscovered, as there are stories of rifts with dark forces, far more dangerous than what you ever faced.
The Ancients

Throughout Ellaria, there is evidence of an ancient and powerful empire that once spanned through several rifts and possessed both knowledge of technology and arcane magic. Though the ancients’ fate is unknown, their ruins and old cities are scattered throughout Ellaria, containing valuable information, artifacts, magic spells and sometimes even gates to other rifts. But beware, you may also find ancient guardians and other dangers in these forgotten places.
Ogres

Ogres have one purpose in life - to make your life miserable, and they do it with maximum brute force. Ogres wander in hoards and tend to attack anything they don’t understand… and they don’t seem to understand much of anything. Although Ogres are not known for their intelligence, they have tough skin, a bad temper and supernatural strength, however, they are not very fast or organized. It is not advised to attack one straight on or you might not live to tell the tale.
Goblins

These small and agile creatures may seem as weak at first, but they will pose more challenges than you think. Using unique and ranged weapons, attacking in groups and not picking a fight they can lose are only some of their abilities. Goblins are very intelligent and seem to adapt to your tactics quickly... There are several types of goblins and they live in various places and in different forms, some are even made of stone. There were rumors of friendly Goblins, but beware, they are not to be underestimated.

Adrian Tache, Artificial World Architect
Adrian has a second office inside his computer, where he directs his digital minions to construct Ellaria. He seems to place strange signs everywhere for them, and we did notice some places with “Do not enter!” warnings. One of them did, never to be seen again… Adrian is a professional game engine programmer with one focus: Creating a fictional world that looks as real as possible.
Arik Helman, Artificial Intelligence Special Agent
Arik "spies" on people in real life, trying to imitate their behavior and transfer it to sophisticated algorithms codes. No one in the office really knows what Arik does, and why he carries a sword. We just know that CivCraft has a great Artificial Intelligence engine and we don’t ask questions.
Idan Factor, Gaming Industry Expert
While most of the team works hard developing the virtual world and internal behaviour of CivCraft, Idan is developing relations with real people in the gaming industry to facilitate the creation and distribution of a great game.
Avi Kaye, Language Expert and Psychologist
Thanks to Avi, CivCraft has a great story with great scripts. On the CivCraft team we believe that in order to make a really good and convincing story we need to take our vision and the scheme of our worlds to a really good psychologist. He squeezes the best out of our creative ideas and then hones and crafts the story.
Lisa Seidman, Executive Producer
Lisa organizes the business side of the project and makes sure that things flow smoothly. She works out the plans for when we have to be finished with each step of the project and how we will pay for everything, get all the work done, and - most important - get the final game into your hands!
Simon Shocket, Voice & Acting Coordinator
Simon's main job is to look good and speak loud. Simon is responsible on all the sounds and voices we have in our game and he represents us to the public.
Ronny Minkovsky, Art Designer
Ronny almost never sleeps, but when he does, he dreams amazing graphical imaginings which he will convert into another CivCraft art masterpiece in the morning. Before Ronny came we felt that something was missing, but no more.
Yossi Priev & Oleg Katzman, Community Scouts
Yossi and Oleg help our community grow every day, people chat and ask them questions about CivCraft and some of them eventually started to work with us. There is absolutely no question they cannot answer and quickly! So if you are reading this line right now, its because of them.
Guy Ben-Ari, Director
When Guy say that there is something missing in the flow of the game, nobody asks questions, they just try to find it. Guy's job is to connect all the moving parts of CivCraft into an organic living world to create the best gaming experience, with a balance between simplicity and fun.
Roi Azagi, Visual Content
CivCraft is good as it can be, but because of Roi it has become a truly natural world. So when Roi says "That green color is not green enough", everybody knows that soon CivCraft will have some new color green which has a reality and beauty that has never been seen before on the screen of a video game.
Risks and challenges
Creating a 3 games in one is a complex task, which involves multiple mechanisms and game engines. However, because CivCraft - Legends of Ellaria is a new concept, the first thing we did was to research how hard it is to do this task, how to do it, and have gathered the required money and equipment for it.
Larkon Studio and it's team are made of experienced programmers, which are very good at research and development. Over the past year we have built much of the engine and the "internal" parts of the game, by using proven technology and methods of programming. Our biggest risk would be not to finish the game on schedule, as we have a large scale plan, which involves multiplayer and modding as well.
Since we've been working on CivCraft for years, and are close to the finish line, we don't anticipate any problems or risks in completing CivCraft on schedule. Naturally, games are complicated and demanding, and some features may present obstacles and maybe left for later versions.
Our biggest challenge in terms of work and resources is the switch between FPS and RTS. we are using a new concept (D-Map), which was already successfully tested and implemented in our engine and works well, but still needs to be polished and prepared for the official version.
