Honeybee Mobile Market is the premier mobile farmers market and pop-up grocery in the Twin Cities. We bring the farm directly to you!
ABOUT & GOALS
It’s a local-foods love story. Two food-obsessed people meet in Italy. Fall in love. Get married. Move to St. Paul, Minn. Begin working with local farms. Work for four years with sustainable farms and CSAs (community-supported agriculture). Want to find new ways to support local farms and bring fresh food to everyone. Decide they are going to do it together—with the help of you.
Enter Honeybee Mobile Market.
Honeybee Mobile Market is the Twin Cities' first mobile farmers market.
Our goal is to make eating local and sustainable easy by bringing farm-fresh foods and artisan products directly to neighborhoods, businesses, and events where people live, work, and play.

As the first and only mobile farmers market in the Twin Cities, we want to become a reliable resource for fresh and local foods, no matter where you live or work. We want to make it easy to shop for fresh, local foods produced by our nearby farmers and artisans. And we want to promote our local food chain—helping local, hard-working farmers reach new people, and helping people gain access to sustainable and healthy foods.
By making local foods more accessible to everyone, we hope to make our farms, communities, and environment healthier and happier.
HOW WILL WE DO IT?
Honeybee Mobile Market will operate May through October, working with our farm partners and artisans to bring you a variety of fresh and local goods, from kale to honey to coffee and cheese.
We will have scheduled stops in neighborhoods all over the Twin Cities metro area, including schools, events, businesses, and more.
And we will make stops in “food deserts”, where healthy, local food is hard to come by.
In addition to our mobile market, we will have an online grocery story, offering up direct delivery to your doorstep.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Of course, starting a food delivery and grocery business is no easy task. With the generous help of family, friends, and supporters of good, clean food, we’ve raised enough funds to nearly get our business off the ground—and mobile. And we already partnered with more than 25 local farm and artisan producers in an effort to bring you the freshest and finest local foods.
Now we just need to get it to you.
Your funds will be used to help us meet our budget goals for purchasing and retrofitting a trailer. Funds will be used for necessary racking, refrigerator, freezer, and electrical needs, and for creating a welcoming decor throughout. With your support, we can create a mobile market that’s also a welcoming community.
We would love to have you join us in our mission to make eating local and sustainable easy for everyone.
Please consider pledging today!
Thank you for your support, telling your friends and for helping us make local, healthy foods more accessible to everyone.

Risks and challenges
As with any food related business, there are a host of necessary licenses and permits on both the state and municipal level that we will need to obtain. Because of our unique mobile market concept, we are essentially the first to go through the permitting process for this particular model and there aren't straightforward permits in place for mobile markets. However, we at the Honeybee Mobile Market team have had in depth conversations and meetings with the MN Department of Agriculture, the MN Department of Health and various city agencies to ensure the process for obtaining the proper permits and have outlined the timetable to do so. The overwhelmingly positive response we have received from community leaders reassures us that any challenges we might face will be overcome by our community's commitment to expanding access to healthy, wholesome foods for everyone.
Growth and expansion is something for which all small businesses hope, but growth can also present challenges. The biggest challenge related to growth for us will be having the capital to create multiple mobile markets to serve the Twin Cities if demand is high. Therefore, any additional funds that are raised through our campaign will be put towards building a second trailer and creating a fleet that can bring real food to as many Twin Cities residents as possible.
