Scaldcrow Games and Worlds of Pulp would like to introduce to you an incredible book and campaign setting: Ron Fortier’s Cape Noire, featuring Brother Bones. Utilizing the lightening quick and easy to use Bare Bones Beyond game mechanics you’ll be playing in this pulp-era setting in no time!
Cape Noire is a city located along the Pacific Northwest coast; set in the 1930s, it has been described as “a cauldron of licentious humanity.” Supernatural creatures and unspeakable sciences dwell in the dark shadows and dirty back alleys, prowling and preying on the innocent population. In addition to these horrific menaces, there are the ever present corrupt city officials and openly violent mobsters. Fortunately, there is hope, a grim reckoner of justice and vengeance; it comes in the form of a supernatural boogeyman—the undead avenger, Brother Bones!

About Ron Fortier
Well known as the author of NOW comic’s early Green Hornet stories as well as their Terminator series Ron was a staple in the 1990s, having worked for Adventure Comics, Blackthorne Publishing, Caliber Comics, Charlton Comics, Eclipse Comics, Marvel, Ocean Comics, TSR, and many others. Since then he has founded Airship 27, an active and prolific publishing company, where he has revitalized the pulp-era character Captain Hazzard.
Brother Bones is one of Ron Fortier’s original characters and we here at Scaldcrow Games are both honored and privileged to be able to bring it to you in a role playing game format.
About Rob Davis
Rob Davis began his illustration career in 1986 and has lent his professional vision to Mayfair Games (DC Heroes Role Playing Game), Iron Crown Enterprises (Champions Super-Hero Role Playing Game), DC Comics ( Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek with Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and the original Enterprise Crew), Innovation Comics, Malibu Comics, Marvel Comics, and numerous other projects. This is all in addition to his work as Art Director of Airship 27.
Brother Bones fans will recognize his work from the interior illustrations of Brother Bones works and the cover of Bullets of Jade. Two of his Original concept illustration for this remarkable cover are available at the Ultimate Art Collectors level.

If my good friends at Scaldcrow Games reach their Kickstarter goal for the game module based on my Brother Bones stories, I am going to do the following. I will have T Glenn Bane conduct a drawing from all the people who were generous enough to contribute to this campaign. 3 names will be drawn and I will have all 3 appear in my next Brother Bones story.

Risks and challenges
Since 2007, Scaldcrow Games has produced over twenty-five books for fantasy, hero, horror, and science fiction settings as well as numerous art products. As we have a group of in-house illustrators, designers, and writers, we do not foresee any challenges with the production of this product. Sadly, sickness and natural disasters cannot be predicted and we hope to be spared such trials. In the event something unforeseen was to happen, we have professional contacts in the industry which we can depend on for assistance.
