My guess is that we backed a scam.

What is going on with this film? it has been ages since your last update. Did you just take the money and run?

It's been almost a year since the last comment here - any update on the project? My wife is an elementary music teacher and we are very much looking forward to watching this film.

How is the project coming? Are you at the film editing stage yet? Perhaps getting model release signatures? Buffing DVD cases? An update would be encouraging. ;)

Hi Folks, Haven't heard any news about this project since September 2011. I would be nice to know how things are progressing. Or not, as the case may be.

How is this project coming? I have a friend who did an opera with her 5th graders and they loved it! I'm really looking forward to this DVD.

Sorry I didn't get involved sooner, but I have been busy with a new job and with my rambunctious family: Charlotte (9), Lucas (7), and Bridget (5). Anyway, I wanted to share what I posted on FaceBook and GooglePlus:

I had the great pleasure of working with Joseph Alessi and Max Sturm on a production of The Fantasticks. Joe Alessi, as anyone who knows him will tell you, has exceptional motivation, intelligence, and integrity. I had long talks with him about the show and other topics; his insight and maturity made me forget I was talking to an 18 year old. Not only did Joe direct the show, but he also produced it, organizing teams of volunteers for everything from lighting and sound to all of the legal and business aspects of putting on a professional theatrical production. Max Sturm likewise is driven, smart, and talented. He joined the production near the end to help Joe direct the final rehearsals; Max reassured the nervous actors with his consummate professionalism.

Joe and Max bound to succeed, whether with this movie or with future ventures. They also are two of the nicest guys I know. They deserve your support.

The arts were such a significant and unforgettable part of my experience as a student in public school, so I am very excited to make my first Kickstarter pledge towards this project. Best of luck to you!

I'm 62, not working, and can't afford to support this project, but I'd be devastated to learn that this project failed so close to its target - so I'm pledging $50 anyway. Can't wait to see the finished DVD.

Have you guys contacted all the fifth grade parents? When I forwarded the clip to one, she had not known of its existence.
